LOST Premiere- The Beginning of the End

Whoah. Any first reactions to tonight's episode?

*Spoilers*

So, the boat people want Ben? What's up with that?

And what the heck was a DHARMA polar bear skeleton doing in Tunisia?

And Ben has a mole on the boat? Who, and why?

It also looks like creepy "Are they alive?" dude must have meant the freighter people, since he appears to be behind all of this.

By the way, I called the phone number that was on the show: (888) 548-0034. It's a recording of the Oceanic 815 family hotline, just like in the show. Pretty cool when stuff like this seeps into the real world.

Wow...

That was arguably one of the best episodes I've seen on Lost.

Loved it..absolutely adored it.

BTW-I know who the scandalous six are. :lookaroun

I don't think it's Michael. He seemed to have sealed the deal by leaving the island and getting back Walt. I wouldn't think he would also keep radio contact w/Ben.

WAIT A MINUTE -- DIDN'T ABBADON ASK HURLEY IF THERE WERE SURVIVORS -- Me thinks that either NONE of the Noobs make it out alive, or they pipe up REALLY tight about whats actually on they island when they file their final report. That chopper doesn't look to hold much more than 7-8 people though. I bet Sayied flys the chopper out with only the Physicist making it off the island. The other 3 Bite it.

We saw Michael and Walt leave the island but unless i'm forgetting something, we don't know that they actually went anywhere. If the freighter has been off the coast for a while, for all we know Michael could have seen the freighter thought it would be helpful and got picked up by it. Or the conditions of his release were that he had to find the freightor and report back to Ben.

Yea, you would think Michael and Walt would be "home" by now and spread word that were survivors ... unless, of course, they didn't make it "home".

how do you know the 6

i think the mole on the boat is michael
Ooo! I like your guess....

I too have heard rumors of who the 6 are... but I don't think any have been confirmed. I wonder which one they'll reveal next week.

Was the "ghost" that the asian guy went to talk to the ghost of Walt?
Any guess on why Daniel was so torn up when he saw the news report of the finding of Oceanic 815?
Where do you think the photo of Ben that they group had was taken? Was it taken off the island? Did Ben ever leave the island?

Do you mean in the flashback when he went to the house? They showed several pictures of the young man he was talking to...I'm pretty sure that wasn't Walt.

Someone wrote on E!'s website (can't remember if it was Kristin or one of the comments) that Daniel was torn up because his calculations showed the plane crashed on the island, and the news of the plane's "discovery" meant he was wrong.

They had the submarine that they used to get back and forth, so it's safe to presume that Ben had left the island before (like Nestor Carbonell, can't remember his character's name, who recruited Juliet in the "real" world).

It's great to have Lost back...and it's especially nice since nothing else is on! At least I can look forward to Thursdays :sohappy:

Thanks for the answers! I think that guy is Richard - the one who doesn't age...??!!:veryconfu

Question about the submarine though... I had thought that Ben never left the island, since he would have left on the submarine when he knew he was dying and needed a surgeon...

That's a great point Kat!! I assumed he went back and forth but that wouldn't add up!

I am quite sure who the 6 are. I know them from my own sources. :)And if I know that, I also know which one is to be revealed next week.

Micheal is the ideal guess as to who the mole on the boat is, as he is undoubtedly appearing within the first eight episodes this season. Personally, I think the ideal guess is also the right one. As we know that Michael couldn't have ever made it back home (through Find815), where else would he be? Stuck on a boat in the middle of the Sundan Trench? So, we should believe that there are some missing pieces to the story of Ben's deal with Michael.

And plus, who else would it be?

The real mystery we have before us is the details of Ben's relationship with the freighter people. Secondary to Miles' apparent ghostbuster training.

I don't know if anyone here ever reads the episode recaps on www.ew.com, but they are always interesting and full of some good new theories. The writer of those recaps really goes indepth and studies the show from every angle.
One theory mentioned there is that Charlotte is the mole and that she and Ben are working together which explains why he knew so much about her and that shooting her was part of their act. Although personally I still think Michael is the better guess.

Interesting stuff! It's fun to guess and share with everyone...especially after I ruined the finale for myself and read the spoiler that was out there (I didn't really think it would be true). No more spoilers for me...but it's a heck of a lot of fun guessing :)
