Hoop De Doo vs. Spirit of Aloha

There will be a group of us traveling, ranging in age from 25-35. Which show would we most enjoy? I would like to do the Hoop De Doo, but am afraid that it may be too geared towards kids for others in my party to fully enjoy.

What would you recommend and why?

We have seen both shows. We've seen the Spirit of Aloha Show twice actually. Our family enjoyed both shows, however we thought that the food was better at the Spirit of Aloha Show. The Spirit of Aloha Show is outside and if it's really hot and muggy out, you may be sorry that you didn't select the Hoop Dee Doo.

It's a tough choice actually....at least it was for our family. We'd go back to both in a heartbeat.

I've been to Spirit of Aloha. It was for the free dining. We really enjoyed it. Great food. But if it wern't free, I'm not sure if it would have been worth the $$$ or time invested. It is very "structured" and had a feel much like the safari ride at AK. Where if they wern't trying to "build a story" the end product may have been better. Oh, and Fire Guy makes a BOAT LOAD of $$$!!!!!! Like Tinkerbell $$$$. Much more than the average Entertainment CM.

These shows are both very near and dear to my heart... I love them both!

They are two completely different types of shows, though. Spirit is not really funny... more corny... except for the last part which is the TRUE show. Very entertaining if you're interesting in the Polynesian culture.

Hoop is a hysterical comedy. I like the ribs better Hoop then at Spirit, but the chicken at Hoop isn't all that great.

Ya know.. there are such great things about both shows it really his hard to pick one over the other!!!

We have been to the Hoop De Doo Revue several times and the Aloha Spirit show. As mentioned by previous posters, these are two entirely different shows. The Spirit show is beautiful however, for a good time, one to be enjoyed by a group especially, go for the Hoop De Doo Revue, hands down.

We have had an absolute blast and are scheduled to for a return visit in May '08.

Aloha is a nice show, but if I had to choose, it would always be Hoop de do!

Especially if you have never been, I believe it to be in the top 10 of the must do WDW classics. As with most things at Disney, it is probably MORE fun for the adults than the children.

We looked into both shows before our Nov 07 trip. Ultimately we didn't go to either. We went to Seaworld and did their luau. BUT we are considering which of these for our next trip. The one factor that stopped us from booking either of these was we went in a chilly season and both of these cancel if it is raining or too cold.

If we went in the summer we would probably choose the Hoop De Doo since we already saw a luau. Have fun what ever you choose to do!!!:wave:
