So how many of you Family Guy/Star Wars geeks rushed out and picked up your copy of Blue Harvest today? I went ahead and picked up the special edition that has a Blue Harvest t-shirt, 3-d glasses for a special 3d sceen and some very retro trading cards. Well worth the additional $10.

Can you tell there are no other Star Wars geeks in my office that I could share this with?:D

I am picking it up tonight. Is the special edition at all locations or certain stores?

I got mine at Best Buy but my guess it it will be pretty much everywhere. One nice thing about the t-shirt....It is actually an XL. I think this is the first time I have gotten a free t-shirt that wasnt so small that it would barely fit my 6 year old daughter.

I didn't know anything about this, but I'm enough of a geek to know when I saw this title that "Blue-Harvest" was the working title of Return of the Jedi when they were filming. I'm also enough of a geek to have a "Revenge of the Jedi" patch somewhere.:o

Gary, this is BY FAR...the best episode of the Family Guy ever made. I hope they do the rest of the trilogy...and even the new ones.

I have one of the original "Revenge of the Jedi" posters framed and hanging in my living room. :lookaroun

Blue Harvest wasnt actually a working title but more of a code name to avoid the inevitable mob scene that would have resulted in having "Return of the Jedi" appear on a film permit. Similar things were done with Episodes 1 through 3. I believe the film title "Desert dogs" was put on the boxes used to ship the trailers and promotional material for Episode 1 to avoid them being stolen and the DVD features for Episode 3 went under the code name Charlotte.

Wasn't "Cloverfield" used as just a working title for a movie...and then they just stayed with it? I don't think the term "Cloverfield" has ANYTHING to do with the film itself.

I think so. I have not been following that move all that closely but from what I remember the original trailers did not even have a title on them. They simply displayed the release date of 1-18-8. I am really hoping that that movie is not a big let down but regardless it will more than likely make a ton on opening weekend thanks to the amount of secrecy maintained so far and the level of curiosity that that has generated. I am not even into monster movies but I might go and see it just to see what the darn thing looks like.

How much you want to bet they never show the thing at all in the movie?

^If it's taking over 3 seasons to show the monster from LOST, I don't hold out much hope for a 2-hour movie from the same creator. :lookaroun :p

I guess I'm not as much of a SW geek as I thought......I had no idea what this was. But I also do not watch Family Guy, I just have never watched it. I guess since all my SW stuff has been boxed up in the attic I just don't know myself anymore.....:lookaroun.

I did take down my stuff one day including my almost complete collection of original action figures to show my girls and they laughed and said, "where did you get all these dolls?" At that point I boxed everything back up and put it back in the Attic!

Did you hear what it is?

-SPOILER ALERT FOR REALLY SAD PEOPLE-

If you drink a soda, you turn into "the monster". I am NOT kidding. That's what I was told it was about. Plus, they all die at the end I hear.

-END OF BAD PLOT SPOILERS-

Yeah, sounds like a Z-Grade movie.

DOLLS?!?!?!? THEY'RE ACTION FIGURES!!!!

If you like Star Wars, you'll LOVE Blue Harvest. I'm currently putting the Digital copy on my computer :) (Downloading the latest iTunes first). Even if you're not a big fan of The Family Guy, you'll love it.

Follow up.

There is currently a problem with the Digital Copy. Fox is aware of it and they are currently working with Microsoft and Apple to fix the problem.

According to one of the trailers, the film is supposed to have been "recovered" by a clean up crew after the attack in the "Cloverfield" section of town, or something to that effect.

Wow. I hope there wasn't anyone that really didn't want to hear that, because you gave them almost no space between the warning and the "Spoiler." Makes it hard to avoid a spoiler when you post it like that.

I found an Easter egg guys. Go to the bonus features menu and select the last option on the left which I think is the 3d scene. Press your arrow to the left and some bubbles will appear under Brian/Chewbacca. Press enter and you will see a teaser trailer for the next chapter in the Blue Harvest Saga.

I guess this is where our parenting styles differ. I would have put the action figures on display and packed up my girls for boarding school.
