I seem to be in this huge minority that misses the Wand a little bit. I just want to find out if I am the only one.

I probably am.

You know, i got that Firefox plug-in that highlights spelling mistakes, but it doesn't work for every single text field.

It has greatly improved my spelling. However, most aren't really my inability to spell, but rather me typing too fast with my bizarre two-finger peck method (it amazes people to see me type because i move faster with two finger then many people do with their whole hands).

David Koenig describes SSE and Wand correctly in his book Realityland:
"Spaceship Earth remains the sole holdover from opening day--at least on the inside. Regrettably, for eight years beginning in 1999, the eighteen-story geosphere was topped with a 25-story cartoonish wand, diminishing the scale and cheapening the aesthetics of this once grand icon."

So no, I do not miss the wand.

2 cents from me (and David Koenig :D )

I miss the color-changing light effects at night... (SE still has its Millennium Celebration-era single lighting scheme, right?)

...and the Entrance Plaza fountain sculpture, which incidentally also changed color to complement the geosphere changing colors behind it.

As relative WDW newbies all my wife and I have ever know is SSE with the wand. When I first heard that it was going to be removed I was very upset and I just knew I would never be one of those "wand haters". Now having been twice since the wand has been removed I must say that I honestly don't miss it one bit and actually I now understand why the "wand haters" felt the way they did about it. There's just something so simplistically gorgeous about SSE without the wand. It seems like most of the folks who miss the wand are like us and first started going to WDW after the wand was erected so for them the wand is a symbol of the magic and wonder that they felt when they first started going. I felt the same way about the castle decorations as well and I just knew the castle wouldn't be as "magical" without them...but I was pleasantly surprised at how much more beautiful the castle is without all of the garrish decorations.

I think the wand, much like the castle decorations, was neat for awhile and served it's purpose but ultimately it's the intrinsic beauty of the structures themselves that keeps taking our breath away, not the decorations we cover them with.

The wand. *sigh*
A bad nightmare in Epcot's history. I wouldn't say I hated it, but I extremely extremely extremely strongly disliked it to the power of 53. The nightmare is now over though, so I can sleep again. ;)

No. I'm looking forward to our next trip (we leave in 10 days!:sohappy:) because my kids have never seen SSE without the wand. My DS has no idea they took it down, so I am curious if he will notice it right away (he is only 6). I bet he will.
