So I realized that the next issue of the Gargoyles comic is supposed to come out next Wednesday and was wondering if anyone else was reading it. It is suprisingly very good with awesome artwork.

I read alot of comics so I have it pulled for me w/the rest every time it comes out... I'm really looking forward to next Wednesday, and not only cause I took a vacation day that day hehe.

I read the Gargoyles comic and am enjoying it. The spin off book, Gargoyles: Bad Guys sounds interesting. Have you ever read the old Marvel Comics Gargoyles book? It came out around the time the cartoon was on. It's a good book, I'm missing only about 3 issues!

Haunted Mansion is also a great Disney comic. There are 7 issues out as of right now and a trade paperback collecting the first 6.

I have all the Haunted Mansion books, haven't read them though. The trade actually only has selected stories from the comics though. There is a hard back trade coming out from SLCs soon I think.

I loved this last episode of the Gargoyles comic. I'll have to consider looking up the old Marvel books. I don't usually read Marvel but I may make an exception.

I didn't know the Haunted Mansion trade only had select stories in it. Oh well, I'll still keep it and my issues now. It's good to have back ups.

You should give the Haunted Mansion books a read, they are really good, great art, great story, based off a great ride, what else can one want!

The Marvel Gargoyles comic is pretty good. It actually deals a lot with the show. I think there were only like 12 or so issues, not a whole lot. Amanda Conner did the art for the book and each issue looks beautiful.

I am not a Marvel fan myself, more of a DC comics kind of guy, but the book is great. Let me know if you find any and what you think of them

What other comics do you read?

I haven't read the latest two issues of Gargoyles yet. My comic shop didn't have them so I had to search around to find them, which I did, in two different stores. I got one from Midtown Comics in NY, which is a great store, and the other I got from Demolition Comics' website. They are based in Fl and were a joy to do business with, great store.

I got the latest this week (6) cause it just came out on Wednesday. I have a pull list at my store and anything they don't have they put in orders for if it is on a pull list. They are great.

I get most of the DC universe (Batman books, Anything Superman or Superman family, Any Wonder Woman/Wonder Girl, All titans books (will be three in the new year), Countdown (and spin offs), JLA, JSA, Shadowpact and more that I can't remember right now)
Buffy
Haunted Mansion
Gargoyles
Anita Blake
And two Marvel:
Loners
Runaways

My pull list is rather significant at this point LOL. I know.. I'm an odd girl.

My local comic shop got the first Gargoyles issue in and since hasn't gotten any. I go there more out of habit, I've been shopping there since I was a kid. I live pretty close to NYC, so I can either go there for some comics, but mostly I just order from Midtown Comics Website and get the comcis within a few days. They are a great store.

Pull list wise I read:
Fables
Jack of Fables
Haunted Mansion
Gargoyles
Thor
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps

As trades I am reading:
Detective Comics (only the Paul Dini issues though)
All Star Superman
Invincible

I also read Wizard Magazine and check newsarama.com daily for comic news.

There's a lot of the DC books I am waiting to get as trades, most of which you mentioned that you read.

I was let down to hear Jeph Loeb left DC to go exclusive at Marvel. His DC books were just excellent, he really wrote the characters perfectly.

I know Dell made Disney comics, I just don't have any. Other than Gargoyles and Haunted Mansion, the only other Disney comics I have are Uncle Scrooge ones, but only if Carl Barks or Don Rosa worked on them.

I love All Star Superman. :) Jeph Loeb was the only one who wrote Superman/Batman to my liking. And I really liked his Supergirl issues as well. I continue to read Supergirl cause I like the character but I refuse to read Superman/Batman right now. It lost it's humor and charm!

I liked Meltzer's run on JLA though.

I also read Wizard and check Newsrama for any interesting news :).

I love Newsarama, I check that site constantly through out the day, it's the best site for comic related news.

I agree with you regarding Superman/Batman. I loved it when Loeb was writing it, especially the arc where Supergirl was introduced. Mike Turner's art just made that story pop off the page. The book just doesn't have a feel to me anymore since Loeb left.

Have you read Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's Superman For All Seasons? Their other DC work is great, all the Batman books (Long Hallowee, Dark Victory, and their shorter Halloween stories they did).

I really like the All Star Superman, but not so much All Star Batman. Frank Miller, other than his Year One arc, his Batman never really intrigued me.

Chuck Dixon's run on various Bat books was awesome, as was his work on Robin and Nightwing. I heard he is going back to write Robin, I hope he'll come back to Nightwing soon.

I read a few issues of Meltzer's JLA, it was good. He still writing it? I'm going to get the trades for those. Years back Morrison did a JLA run and that was a good book too.

I love reading Wizard. Do you remember a magazine called Comics Scene? It was out in the late 80's early 90's and was dedicated to comic books and animation. It was a good magazine but is no longer in print.

Do you collect any DC statues or toys?

Have not read Superman for All Seasons yet but have been told I should. Hopefully I'll get to it soon. I only read the All Star Superman as well. W/all the delays and the story not really intriguing me I didn't think I needed the batman. I will be reading Dixon's Robin though. Quite excited for that and Batman and the Outsiders. I have the first issue but haven't had time to read it yet.

Meltzer was only on for 12 issues (13 including 0) but I really enjoyed his run. Lots of talking and not as much action as others liked however I enjoyed it myself. I also liked his Identity Crisis though :). Read that in trade, it's good.

I only read Wizard, the other one is too old for me. I haven't been reading for that long.

I don't collect any toys or statues due to monetary means. I do love some of the superman ones though. I collect more superman stuff then anything else :).

What kind of Superman stuff do you collect? Have you ever been to the Superman museum in Metropolis, Illinois?

I really enjoyed Identity Crisis. I lent it to a co-worker who loved it.

Superman for all Seasons is great, you can either hunt down the 4 issues or get the trade, either way, well worth the read.

I'm excited that Dixon is coming back to Robin. He wrote a great Robin series. If you enjoy his run, I would recommend going back to get his earlier Robin issues, as well as checking out an issue of Nightwing where Robin appears in it. It's them going through the city of Bludhaven and talking, I want to say issue #7, but I don't have the issue handy and could be giving the wrong number. It's a great issue though.

You said you haven't been reading comics for too long. How long have you been reading them and what made you want to get into comics?

Random Superman (and sometimes supergirl) stuff. I have everything they put out of Lois and Clark (all the little paperback books, hardcover, trade... just not all the DVD sets yet), I have lots of other random superman stuff. I have a Krypto plush :).

I have been to Superman Weekends once. It was a consolation since I had to miss my college graduation to attend a funeral in Missouri. My family was trying to cheer me up.

My mother was into Comics when I was her age so I read all her old Superman, Superman Family, Batman, Wonder Woman while I grew up. When we traveled every once in awhile we'd go to a comic store and I'd get a trade. Then when Superman Returns was coming out I went to the comic store to see if they had any tie ins or anything, started Infinite Crisis and that was the beginning LOL now I get at least 10 books a week :).

That's pretty cool that your mother read comics.

I started when I was about 12, reading Batman, and have been reading ever since.

I'm hoping to get to the Superman festival at least once, it sounds too good to miss, especially for a DC fan.

Lois & Clark was a good show, as is Smallville. I remember back in the late 80's a Superboy TV show (spawned it's own comic book) where two different actors played Superboy. One was Gerard Christopher, who does conventions, and the other actor's name I can't remember at the moment.

I love the Superman Animated show, as well as the Batman Animated show. They cast great actors for the voices and the animation is excellent. I also love the old Superman cartoon from the 40's, those are great.

Did you buy that deluxe Superman box set that came out when Superman Returns came to DVD? That is a great treasure chest of Superman cinema. I still need to see Hollywoodland, though I hear they focus more on the detective than on George Reeves. The book Hollywood Kryptonite is a great book about the old George Reeves Superman show as well as the mystery surrounding his death.

Do any of your friends collect comics?

(Sorry if I ask too many questions. It's rare I get to talk comics, so when I get to it's great. A few of my friends read, but they are busy so we don't get to talk comics much.)

I didn't see the Superboy series but seriously considering purchasing it. Loved the Superman Animated and Batman (the first version and beyond but not The Batman (current)). I LOVED the Justice League Cartoon and Teen Titans wasn't bad either.

I didn't get the boxed set but I want it sooooo badly. I'm *hoping* I might get it for christmas.

None of my friends here collect :(. So they thing I'm rather odd...

The Superman cartoon from the 40's is available on DVD. It's pretty cheap too, sometimes listed for under ten dollars. I think there were like 20 episodes or something like that. The animation is real nice, very fluid like, and they have Superman doing some pretty cool stuff. Watching that, then looking at Batman Animated series, you can see where the Batman staff got their inspiration.

Have you read Kingdom Come?

Not sure if you've evern been to the old Warner Bros. Store in New York City. They had this cool elevator on the side of the building, in glass so you could see it from outside, and when you went up on it, from underneath, Superman was pushing it up. It was very cool. I was sad to see those WB stores close, they had such great DC merchandise. I bought a bunch of the DC collector's plates there, one being a JLA plate by Alex Ross.

I think the Gargoyles spin off book, Gargoyles: Bad Guys, comes out next week.

Haven't read Kingdom Come. I should I gues but haven't yet. I did go to the store in NYC. It's so hard to find good Comic Book stuff for girls! When spiderman 3 came out I REALLY wanted a "Mary Jane" T-shirt or something but nothing doing. I'd LOVE more Lois merchandise too but I haven't seen anything :(.

Do you live close to NY? If so, I'd recommend Midtown for comics. Jim Haley's Universe is good too. The village has a few good stores, and then there is also Forbidden Planet in the city as well.

Do you read the Mary Jane comic book Marvel puts out? I think it's called Mary Jane loves Spider-man or something like that. If I remember correctly, Terry Moore of Strangers in Paradise fame was writing it for a while. (Have you read Strangers in Paradise?) I've read a few issues of Mary Jane, it was pretty good.

I can't think of any new Lois Lane merchandise other than an issue of All Star Superman a while back where she got powers. The Warner Bros store used to sell a nice plate of Superman carrying Lois in the animated art style. It was nice.

Kingdom Come is a great comic. Beautiful art by Alex Ross, great story by Mark Waid. Superman has a nice look to it as an aged hero, and his battle with Captain Marvel was pretty intense. They have it as a trade, well worth getting. Would make a great Christmas present.

I just recently ordered from a place in FL for a few issues I couldn't find up here. They are called Demolition Comics. Worked out pretty well, I plan to order from them again. (Not sure if you know them or not but their website lists their different locations in Fl.)

Coleseum of Comics (I think that is that name) is a great store as well. A friend of mine lives in FL (works in the Magic Kingdom) and whenever I visit he takes me to his local comic stores. Nice places, puts some of the ones here in NJ to shame.
