Oh I knew I should have peeked through the window today... I just walked through Project Tomorrow as usual on my photo rounds and contemplated walking over to the unload windows, but decided against it. Oh well - tomorrow is another day. :)

Thanks for the update!

Yeah, I saw a couple of them sitting out in front of Spaceship Earth after the park was closed, the same night that I saw the first part of the Mickey hand facade be removed from the wand structure. Pretty exciting!

Also, does anyone know what those huge spotlights are that have been installed throughout World Showcase, referenced to in that blog? And that construction in the former tram turnaround at the International Gateway? Very intriguing.

As I mentioned in the comments section of the post, the tent is for the Summer on the Savanna DVC party for members and their guests. I went last Thursday and it was pretty fun. They had a DJ, crafts for the kids, characters, ice cream and drinks. It will only be running for a few more weeks, and then the tent will be taken down.

Very nice. I can't wait to see them in action. I am a bit worried since on the offical site it still says SE will still be down in Oct. but I have my fingers (& everything else) crossed for some good luck.

Screens are much bigger than I had expected.

Now... a new facade for World ShowPlace?
Hadn't heard of that before... It looks like the "Crystal Palace" originally planned for the back of the UK pavilion. It's (obviously) right near the UK pavilion. Simply a retheming of the special events building? Or is there a different purpose for this, perhaps opening it back up to the public, perhaps as an exhibit for the 25th? In any event, I find this very interesting.

And new spotlights. Also curious. Might they be lasers or merely conventional lights? Might there be a new addition to ROE, or might ROE be in its final days? Curious, curious, curious...

Those are the current spotlights used in Illuminations ROE. The lifts are raised into place later in the afternoon. I suppose the blog writer hasnt ever noticed them till now which is good. Same old Servo controlled spotlights though

Every couple nites ther take 2 cars over to the central shops to put the screens on the cars and then they bring them back. When i am at magic late you can see them go by on the truck.

to be honest, i dont really like how they look. i think i just have to get used to them and see them in action. i think its cuz i was imagining something completely different. hmm...so, there is only one screen to every two guests? how does that work?

im gonna contemplate this one for a lil...i guess i was just hoping for an overall better vehicle design. not just a rehash with an attached screen in the middle.

Have you ever been on Test Track?

Anyway, nice screen size.

the point i am making is that this is going to be a touch screen. Test track is a view-only screen, so it makes sense to be used for numerous ppl at a time.

but, a touch-screen that allows you to interact with the ride is kinda personal. idk, im not sure if im gonna want all the things my mom wants. in horizons, didnt each person get to choose their own future?

thats kinda what i was hoping for.

I have a major problem. I thought they were changing the cars. I HATE those seats, they are the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in. The screen is great but where are the cushions for the seats and your neck?

The ride always had this "Shut up, quit complainin' and learn about communication" aura to it...

:ROFLOL:

Looks like it takes a large part of the viewing area (right in front of the ride vehicle). Don't need it much, but it was nice to look straight ahead going around corners and backwards.

I don't see it as any more obtrusive than the frontseat headrests were for backseat riders. Most of what you're looking at is to either side (or occasionally above you) anyway.

As for only having one screen for two riders and comparing it to Test Track, there's a slight difference between SSE and TT. On TT, they try and fill every single seat in every car. So you have a good chance of sitting next to a stranger. On SSE, they never sit strangers in the same row. So you *should* know the person next to you for the interactive part.
