High School Musical Pep Rally
The Pep Rally is outside. It travels around MGM then stops and ends at the hat. It won't be inside the ABC theatre.
Does High School Musical really have the staying power to warrant a show inside a theater? I know they just made a second movie for it, but I have 2 kids (DS8 and DD5) and none of us get the popularity of this show. My kids have no interest in it and I neither do any of their friends. (Perhaps we're all out of the loop...) I guess I just see it as a flash-in-the-pan kind of show. Am I wrong? :veryconfu

Actually yes. The show (and franchise) has made such a major impact on Disney over the last year and a half that they are considering every possibility imaginable when trying to squeeze more money out of it. Anyone remember the seperate-ticketed show that was rumored for MGM Studios? :animwink: (It is still an option in Disney's book at this point...)
You're right. Why would a permanent show at ABCTheatre show a High school Musical pep rally?
unfortunately for you, you are not the target audience of High School Musical. It's an extremely popular franchise and certainly has a place at MGM...moreso than Tomorrowland, that's for sure.Read my post above.
True. I was comparing the fact about the Pep Rally and whether the way it is would really work on stage. But a composed version would be better since it won't just be a parade with one float, etc. While I personally can't stand any aspect of the show(s), it is a more than popular franchise and Disney is willing to do whatever it takes to sell. If they were to make HSM into a stage show, it would be a longer, more composed show. Think on the scale of Festival of the Lion King, minus the elaborate sets...

Says you. The Walt Disney Co. disagrees (not that they are always right). That's the thing. It's a popular franchise but dosen't deserve to be in a place where real movies go to to be turned into rides. It's like putting the character filled wand on SSE. It's fun, it's about disney, but it's not about the theme. Disney Channel original movies have no place in a place that is centered around major release movies(Theaters).
In the US, maybe. Over here it`s as unknown as Ellen was 10 years ago. No the best choice for a resort dependent on overseas guests perhaps....High School musical is huge!
