I have an etiquette question if anyone has any answers.
DD and I are invited to Dave's niece's bridal shower. They enclosed cards about where the are registered, and frankly, there's nothing on their lists that I can afford, or would choose to give as a shower gift. Would it be wrong for me to give them something else, or perhaps a gift card instead of a gift from her list?

Sure!
It's not required that you buy from the registry.

That's what I thought, but I just didn't want to rock the boat.

Incidentally, since I clearly wore the wrong thing to their other daughter's graduation party last weekend, they specified on the invitation that "Attire is dressy casual". :ROFLOL:

I've never been told how to dress for a wedding shower. Yikes!

Are they trying to live above everyone else's means? Give them something that you want to give them, from your heart.

What did you show up in? A two piece and flip flops?

I'd say a giftcard would be just fine...
