nothing. Disney is not building a $1.1 billion park in Branson, Missouri lol...of all the dumb places for Disney to build a park, that would near the top of the charts. They haven't built a theme park for that much in the US since 1982, and even if they were going to build a park for that much money, it wouldn't be outside of Orlando or Anaheim.

We can only hope and pray that Yakov Smirnoff will be performing on one of those stages.

Unrelated side note - anyone ever been to Silver Dollar City? Its a pretty theme park.

And it has a cool new Screamin' Swing coming in this year. They build some well-themed rides there (not Disney theming, but they certainly blow Six Flags out of the water).

First you have to think about this. Disney went to Florida because of the pretty consistant weather there. Branson, or Mo. has a full winter, which means that it would have to close for at least 4 months, and then they are in tornado alley, so what happens when that event happens? I don't think that Disney is willing to take that much of an investment only to have to rebuild it when the weather has a hissy fit.

not that I disagree that Disney isn't planning anything in MO, but you can build stuff to withstand tornadoes (maybe not an F5 directly hitting, but certainly most normal tornadoes wouldn't do any more damage than the hurricanes have in Florida from time to time). The winter point is the bigger problem. Outside of a hotel or a small indoor property (like the entertainment complexes), I don't see Disney building much in the north. That said, Disneyland Paris is beautiful when it gets a couple inches of snow.

To be honest, a hurricane has a different kind of wind ....segment? Whereas a tornado's winds are condensed into a smaller segment. A hurricane's winds are wide spread, intense yes but a whole different kind of animal. IMHO, I believe that a tornado is going to cause alot more damage at a level 3 than a hurricane with varing winds of 80 miles an hour or better. I'm not a expert, but I think this makes more sense.

I find it very interesting that Disney officials are not commenting on this. They could deny it, but instead they are not saying anything. Any ideas? And what about the Disney addresses on the paper work, hmm?:lookaroun

I wonder how many points a weeknight in Samuel L. Clemens' Riverboat Hotel will cost? I believe it will be the most popular deluxe accomodation associated with Disney's Heart of America (HoA) park. :lookaroun
