Odyssey Disco?

Hey guys. My mom showed me something pretty funny today. This comes from the website for M. G. Russo & Associates, P.A., consulting engineers (http://www.mgra.com/):

Odyssey Discotheque Restaurant and Cafeteria Complex - Disney Epcot Center This 40,000 square foot futuristic structure contains dining and disco entertainment in a surrounding of light and sound as only Disney can conceive. Specialized effect lighting systems are used throughout the facility and were carefully coordinated with unusually complex structural features. The final engineering drawing package included 115 sheets of detailed electrical and mechanical construction documents.

Does anyone remember this? Has anyone danced here? I would love to see some pictures of the place in action, so please share!

I believe the whole disco thing was dead by '82. According to the website link, this company wasn't founded until '82.
Who in their right mind would have comissioned this in the first place?

Martin has a video from inside Odyssey with Disney characters dancing and jumping around, there were lights n stuff, they were singing "clap your hands, the partys startin..." or somethin like that

Yep - there was a small stage with parcans, nothing more - apart from strips of ceiling lights that would chase on cue.

There again, they did have dancing in the Tomorrowland Terrace (original, now Cosmic Rays) on a purpose built dancefloor in 1972 for grad night style events.

Are we saying this is a 1982 document or later? I`ve some pics in my photo album from the above mentioned show.

Yes, according to the weblink, the company was founded in '82, so I would imagine the document is later than that - possibly '84 or beyond?
