Every day's a Holiday with MJ

I have decided that I am going to hang Christmas ornaments from the ceiling in my livingroom.....sounds crazy right???

Our aparmtent is so tiny...there is a very small chance that we can fit a very small tree in here, but I love Christmas decorations....so I am taking a hint from Bath and Body and hanging ornaments from the ceiling. I hope it will work.:o

I don't have to much longer to hang out here...I need to go take a shower and head to the mall for a long, crazy day. I'm thinking I might try to leave even earlier than I was planning on so I can look around a little bit.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I spent over 8 hours in the car...which wasn't a lot of fun, but my DH and I spent the day with my family...so the middle part of the day was very good. I can't wait to eat my turkey sandwich for lunch...yummy! :slurp:

Hi Nibbs! How was your first Thanksgiving as Mrs. Nibbs? Did you cook?
Heck no I didn't cook!

I did finish up the mashed potatoes here at my mom's.

The first Thanksgiving went fine though. I had dinner at my Grandparents in-laws. And then had a second meal at my mom's. No disasters were had!

My in-laws did come look at our new house though (they helped us move the refridgerator from my grandma's to our house.) They said they really liked it. So that makes me feel really good.

That's always a relief. I remember showing my mother our house after our bid was accepted and being so afraid that she'd hate it, but she liked it. All that worry for nothing!

Exactly. They thought it was be this big hole...that it would need so much work and we were buying some delapitated shack. So it was nice to kind of prove them wrong!

And to update, I have a new front window pane where the original was cracked!!! :D

Yay! My kitchen window on the side has had a crack for at least 2 years now, but it's so low that it's not noticable, so it has taken low priority. Don't get too spoiled about repairs getting done right away - real life doesn't work that way!

well I know that! But I've got to get anything "safety, health, and fire" related done before I can move into my house. So the repairs are going to be getting done quickly here within the next few weeks just so we can move in. Then any other repairs on my list have to be done within the next 4 months. So that will go a little slower, but I've still got a lot to do within 4 months.

I still can't get over how strict they are about that. Is that just your city, or statewide?

Nope...just my city. They're a little nuts. But they all care about the city...wanting to make it the best it can be, so I guess that's why they're so strict on things. They're known around the area for being strict too. Which is kind of sad if you think about it. I mean they want people to move into the area, but people don't want to move to an area where they are going to have all these restrictions put on them. It's really a catch 22.
