Squirrel Awareness Month tragedy

As everyone surely knows, October is Squirrel Awarenss Month. (It says so right there in the calendar of your Disney Adventures magazine.)

Anyway, I made it a point to make everyone I know aware that it is SAM. Well, my wife was driving our son back from his baseball game the other day and she ran over one of our bushy-tailed rodent friends.

She claims it was an accident. But many Halloweens ago, we put our pumpkins out on the porch and the next day we discovered that a hungry squirrel had devoured her pumpkin. The clever critter didn't touch mine at all. She vowed then her eternal hatred for squirrels.

I believe she saw an opportunity to get revenge during one of the holiest months of the year for squirrels. Now I'm concerned that the squirrels are going to fight back. While I love squirrels and feel a kinship with them, I feel obligated to protect my wife and family from their wrath. If anybody has any ideas on how to battle squirrels, please let me know ASAP!

I'd suggest mastering the arcane art of commanding "familiars" and surrounding your house with a platoon of hungry cats eager to obey your every command.

It MAY be your only hope...

Actually, this morning on the way to work, a squirrel ran out in front of my car, then decided that he wanted to run the other way right as I got to him...SPLAT bump oops
