Random Weather Thought... Autumn is when SoCal weather can really shine compared to the rest of the nation.
Referencing another thread where a delivery robot is getting stuck in a snowstorm tonight in Indiana; It's currently a balmy 65 degrees as the first Fantasmic! now starts at Disneyland tonight. But in South Bend, Indiana at the same time it is currently 29 degrees with heavy snowfall. In downtown Chicago it is 26 degrees with light snowfall. In the middle of Nebraska it is currently 15 degrees and clear. In Columbus, Ohio it's currently 31 degrees with snow flurries.
Even down South, right now nearing Midnight in suburban Atlanta it's 39 degrees tonight. Winter's on its way fast!![]()
Agree with the sentiment although today was a blistering 94 degrees where we celebrated my nephews birthday at a park in Calabasas.
First snow here in Michigan.

Do you see his comment as a jab against Pirates? I don't think he meant it as such. Not Brilliant storytelling to Bob means there is no obvious linear story. And that’s its a more passive experience by modern standards. As the CEO of Disney and leader of the company while many dud attractions have debuted, Id probably choose a different way of phrasing my thoughts when referring to 55 year old + classic and one of the greatest attractions of all time.
Do you see his comment as a jab against Pirates? I don't think he meant it as such.
Or he is looking at it through the lens of a modern guest and chose his words based on that, its why he also said it was quaint along with it.I don’t think it’s a jab. I just think he chose his words poorly and perhaps only understands one kind of storytelling when it comes to attractions.

I'm just giving my opinion. If you want to think of what he said in a negative way, that is up to you. But not everything that the man say has to be seen through a negative lens.I’m guessing whichever one paints him in the best light is what you believe?

And just to so you know I'm fair, maybe he could have chosen a better way to phrase it so that criticism like this wouldn't come up. But I think the overall sentiment would still be the same. That Pirates while a groundbreaking classic attraction, and a product of its time, has no real story to speak of that modern audiences have come to expect.
Ok, so what is the overarching story of Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean?I was actually not being negative and being fair. Not brilliant storytelling means less than great story telling. I actually translated/ painted what he said in more of a positive light. The fact remains “not brilliant story telling” is a poor way to describe Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland.
But not everything that the man say has to be seen through a negative lens.
