Trip Report Our Wicked Halloween 2025

Well, we’ve been home for just over a week now and unfortunately bought Covid back with us. We were quite poorly but can now start our trip report.
Just to remind you, we are sisters from the UK. I am Gillian(G) and Christine (C), both retired and big Disney fans.
We flew over on 3rd September with 5 nights at Universals Endless Summer Surfside again ( a favourite ) followed by 14 nights at the Wilderness Lodge for the 1st time.
Our flight over was as usual, long but comfy. We always find that Virgin Atlantic really look after you. With a great entertainment system and mostly edible food, including ice lollies , you can’t go wrong.

Arrival at MCO went much faster than usual within 45 minutes we had cleared immigration, claimed our luggage and had booked an Uber to our 1st hotel, arriving 25 minutes later. What’s even better is that we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom room with a kitchen area. A first for us.

Our view is the sister hotel,, Universals Dockside. These are considered budget hotels but seem a higher standard than that.
During our 5 nights here, we only did 1 day at Universal Studios as we did most of it 2 years ago. Even the new Epic Universe didn’t interest us as it’s mostly rollercoasters, which we don’t do. It was lovely to start our vacation so laid back. Our one day at the original Universal park was great.

Wasn’t so crowded.
image0.jpeg

Didn’t go on the Mummy ride, but met one in the shop🫨

Looks a bit different from the real thing

Always a favourite

Named after us🤣
It was great to go on our fave rides like ET & Minnions and the Horror Make-Up Show is a great laugh. We always love Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley too.
A brilliant place to eat is at the Hard Rock Cafe. They now take your photo as you enter.

Trying to look cool 😎

The salmon was the best we have ever had.

Managed to get on lots of rides, including the new version of Country Bears Jamboree which we absolutely loved. Pirates, HM, IASW, & Phillarmagic.
Our ADR today is at ‘ Be Our Guest’. As the menu has been changed, we thought we’d give it a second chance as we were disappointed with the food two years ago.
Our table was in the West Wing which we found to be a bit dark but we preferred it to the Grand Ballroom.

Waiting for our table.

Mixed green salad for me French onion soup for C.
image3.jpeg

Steak Frites for me & Beef Bourguignon for C.
We also had a lovely, rather long warm baguette to accompany the meal. A nice addition.
Our desserts were Crème Brûlée’s. Sorry no piccy.

Got a PP on the way out.

After this feast, we rode Little Mermaid, looked around Toon Town then made our way to Tomorrowland & on to Carousel of Progress & finally Peoplemover.
In the evening we had a big storm come over, which meant we couldn’t lounge in our fave chairs near Geyser Point, so spent time in the lovely lobby instead.

Unbecoming of a 65 year old 🤣

There was a very good choice of food but didn’t enjoy the atmosphere as much as we thought we would, so was a little disappointed.
Went back to WL to spend time in our fave chairs.

We named our new friend Pedro after the gorgeous actor Pedro Pascal.🥰

We went to MK in the evening to see HEA and the new Disney Starlight Parade. Both were brilliant. It was a rainy evening but this didn’t take away from our enjoyment. Here are some pics.

Thursday 18th September

We had a lazy day today with all morning by the pool followed by a late afternoon meal at Geyser Point.

Disney Ducks.

For me it was the Bison Burger as many people have recommended it on here and it was the best.
C had the steak & cheese in a ciabatta roll.

Friday 19th September

Another easy day today with a first time visit to Boardwalk, then Beach Club & Yacht Club. We had seen lots of your pics from here but to see it for ourselves was fab. We certainly fell in love with the scenery.

OMG the best ice creams ever !!!

Another first is an ADR at Epcot’s Garden Grill this evening. We decided to get there earlier so that we could ride Soarin’ and The Land, then onto the Grill.

I absolutely love the cornbread and honey butter. I could have eaten all of it 😋
image1.jpeg

We even ordered extra steak & mash as it was so good.

Saturday 20th September

Today was a pool and packing day as we only have tomorrow left for this vacation and don’t want to leave all of that packing to do on a MK day. So after a light breakfast we spent quite a long time by the pool, then after sorting out our cases we headed off to Roaring Forks for a quick serve. Then we spent the evening watching 2 of the Pirates of the Caribbean films in our room along with some goodies from Forks.

Sunday 21st September

It’s our final day and as usual ways a MK day.

It was going to be hot today, so just meandered down Main Street to the hub and took in the atmosphere.
Our 1st ride was Peter Pan which was quite a long wait but at least it was all inside. Then onto IASW, Phillarmajic then to Tomorrowland for People Mover.

Lunch today was at Colombia Harbour House. No piccy but we both enjoyed the fish platter & fries.
Next we went to Haunted Mansion but we didn’t get far before it broke down again. Second time this vacay.
We then decided to join the Country Bears and should have been going on Tiana but since the wait time was so long we went to Pirates instead, which was still a long wait but at least it was all inside.
Made our way over to the Plaza Ice Cream parlour for 1 last ice cream.

After a last visit to the Emporium we made our way back to the hotel for the evening.

Monday 22nd September

Home today. Thought it would be nice to just relax in the wonderful hotel lobby one last time before our Uber at 11.30am. Having gone through check in & security ‘C’ spotted a sign in the food court that made her eyes light up.
image0.jpeg

McDonald’s !!! We both enjoyed a Cheeseburger & fries.

Our flight was on time, which will always make us smile. 😊

Our beautiful plane.
C had started getting a sore throat a day earlier but became more unwell during the flight and not knowing that she actually had Covid, as did I when we tested ourselves a day later. Hope no one else on the plane caught it from us.

We have already booked next years November trip with us staying at POFQ for 2 weeks, as we have always wanted to see Disneyworld decked out for Christmas. Next years trip could well be our last visit but never say never. Thank you all for reading our trip report. Hope you enjoyed it.
