Must say that I find it very weird there seems to be an account on X dedicated entirely to criticising Epic Universe.

I think that was covered when he mentioned it was built to Universal standards. And Uni had the opportunity to inspect the coaster before opening and regularly. And after the death, Uni said the coaster operated correctly according to their standards.

If the family or government go after Mack, Mack has an airtight "It wasn't me - Universal said so" case.

Nah - uni has requirements, but its still a mack coaster. Operator vs manufacturer

Went back to Epic last week, man the park is not aging super well :/

Even in the time since I last went (not long ago) chipped paint, water spots, cracking sidewalks in multiple places

Afraid to see what happens in the next few years if its having these issues within 5 months and not properly maintained.

Were you there at night? I also noticed quite a bit of the in-ground lighting was broken on my visit in early October.

I've only really noticed this stuff in Celestial Park, but yeah it already looks 10 years old. I get the impression they cheaped out on materials for Celestial Park.

A good comparison I can think of is the Disney Springs makeover, which is nearing 10 years old but still looks brand new. How the heck does Celestial Park already look so beat up??

I don’t understand how this happens so quickly in a climate that doesn’t have a freeze/thaw cycle. They got ripped off by a subcontractor who cut corners or something? It doesn’t really make sense.

Wouldn’t that have immediately torn up the pavement though? It looked great during previews when I was there in April.

This is bad. It seems both Universal and Disney are getting bad work done by their subcontractors.

I question the knowledge of todays subcontractors compared to the old days.

In my opinion, while the subcontractors were the ones doing the bad work, I blame both Universal and Disney for not constantly overseeing and inspecting and correcting the work as it’s being done.

I didn't remember seeing pavement issues when I went to Epic on September 18th, September 19th, September 21st, and September 23rd.

The issues I had to deal with was ride related. I waited a long time for Mario Kart while it broke down when I was in line and Battle of Ministry of Magic had an issue while I was on the ride.
