Yes I tried it two years ago and only lasted 5 months. Hahah. I’m going to try again. My reason for letting it expire is different this time. I just can’t afford to spend $7,000 a year on Disneyland and also go on a nice family vacation and right now we’re more in need of the latter.

Those socal ticket deals they offer are a good alternative to having a pass its usually 3 non consecutive visits at a discount.

Yeah might try that out. You have to be careful though. Between buying those and whatever else you end up doing to fill the void you may come out spending the same or close.

If you get those for each quarter sure a pass may make more sense but if you do it for one quarter it would be like 250 a person plus food plus parking for 3 hopper visits.

I’ve played out or lived out the scenarios. Not even the imagine passes make sense as you have to take a weekday off to use them. Meaning you still have to find a way to entertain the family on weekends and end up spending about the same amount as if you had bought Enchant or Believe Keys. They have this thing fine tuned.

That being said it all comes down to how many times you want to visit each year and what makes sense financially.

I do have to say Disney has the worst timing for this announcement possible, Anerica's largest workforce is completely furloughed and doesn't know how they can pay their next bills.

Reminds me of how they increased D+ prices during the Kimmel controversy, the company seems tone deaf.

That being said it all comes down to how many times you want to visit each year and what makes sense financially.

That’s not a bad deal especially since it includes weekends. Sounds like it would be valid for when they open up the new Smugglers Run missions too.

Except in my case I’m doing mental gymnastics to NOT get a pass. That’s the intent. What I’m trying to avoid.

I see what you re saying but if I’m going only three days for the year than I went to max out those 3 days and kind of treat them like a non local and go with the LL’s. I don’t necessarily mean I want to ride crush. Just want to deal with as least stress as possible.

I will say that I was kind of disappointed with the 70th celebration. Since I went for both the 50th and 60th I felt I needed to go for the 70th and it was just “eh”

the 2 things I liked the most were recycled - paint the night and wondrous journeys.

There was nothing at the horseshoe or Hyperion which was a crime.

the Pixar thing at fantasyland theatre was a complete joke.

So yeah….. I get people not wanting to renew. I half way regret buying a key when I was out there but I already basically paid for it and I’m sure I’ll go at least once more before summer.

We’ve been parking at the Anaheim Hotel for the last couple years. Very convenient but last time I went they charged me $40 saying they needed to keep up with Disneyland. Come to find out Disneyland didn’t raise the parking until today. So Anaheim hotel had the inside info and decided to start charging the extra 5$ a few weeks early. Why does that rub me the wrong way?

That’s kind of where we’re at. TDR or WDW. We’ve never been to either. WDW obviously makes more sense with the kids but I’m kind of getting tired of always doing “what makes more sense.” Or Aulani or a cruise if we decide to go with what’s more convenient.

I lost my pixie duster outlook long ago but HIGHLY recommend a trip to WDW if you’ve never been. It’ll feel familiar to DLR while simultaneously feeling completely different from DLR.

It’s such a different experience, staying at a WDW resort, never leaving the Disney bubble, taking the included transportation everywhere, experiencing brand new parks like AK and EP that feel nothing like DL or DCA… all while getting your Disney fix.

DL is a better theme park but WDW is a better overall vacation, I think if you try it you’ll be blown away by the difference.

ETA… you can’t go wrong with any of the options you listed but if you’re a Disney person you have to experience WDW at least once, it’s such a unique way to do Disney.

We definitely want to do WDW soon. I just don’t know if it’s the next trip of maybe in 2-3 years. I was hoping Disney would incentivize a 2026 WDW trip a bit more. A measly 25% off rooms isn’t cutting it. Between all the construction walls at MK and with all the new attractions on the horizon I thought they’d offer something a bit juicier. For a family of 4 flying across the country for a WDW trip staying at a moderate hotel all 25% off rooms saves you is a few hundred bucks. Yayyyy the trip will only cost 9,500 instead of 10k!

Sure but like I said I don’t mind the pricing strategy or even the fact that he said it (which he shouldn’t have). Only that they just couldn’t wait a couple weeks to raise the prices.
