Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

Not fully. It’s been implied and discussed by those with inside info. But again, not sure if true, or if there will be any animatronics.

If this is like Peter Pan Tokyo… physical sets and moving pieces, but no actual figures.

I can’t remember any insider implying it. Around here at least. I remember starting a conversation or two saying that not including at least a large Thanos AA would be huge missed opportunity.

Yeah Pan at TDS has no AAs but I guess that doesn’t mean that they couldn’t design one scene around a large AA here. The question becomes what effect that scene would have on the rest of the attraction? Seeing a large AA in one scene as cool as that may be might have a detrimental effect on the rest of the attraction that’s heavily screen focused by making everything look else feel not as “real” or immersive.

Odd, marketing-wise, for Josh to use the word "Epic scale" to mean "incredible, impressive, awesome, exactly what fans want in an attraction...." I know the term far preceded Universal's Epic Universe but to use it in Epic's opening months is maybe not ideal. Maybe "spectacular scale" or "Mind-blowing scale" or "never-before-experienced extreme scale"?

Dunno, it might be a cheeky play on words specifically aimed at those critical that Disney had no irons in the fire as it were to respond to EU. And that this, Coco, Encanto, Avatar, Monsters, Cars, etc. are all coming online within 4-5 years of EU.

Epic Mickey predates EU.

Absolutely, the word "epic" is quite old, it's not a matter of who used it first. I was just surprised that Josh/Disney is using "epic" as an adjective to describe "the ultimate, the best" in theme parks in the very first months of their competitor's theme park with that name.

It could be cheeky wordplay but at best it says they are matching their competitor.

Now its coming into view and starting to look like the concept art in terms of building shape. I had seen many comments online about how the shape looks nothing like the concept art. And I was thinking, just wait, its not done, the entire shell is not built yet.

Yep, I heard at least 2 say they didn't think the entrance would be so far back. I kept thinking, What makes you think they are even close to finished with the building? The artwork wasn't exaggerated in terms of location or look.

Yep,

I kept saying to people, the artwork is really just showing the front most building, everything they've built so far is behind that, and not really shown in the concept art.

I believe its this concept art with Hulk holding the ride vehicle that gave indication of AAs, as that doesn't indicate Hulk is on-screen but rather he is physical its just the action behind him that is on-screen -

He’s holding the ride vehicle. lol. It’s interesting that I’ve seen that concept art many times but it never occurred to me that he’s seemingly there in physical form. I think I just kind of gloss over it as my brain just registers the whole thing as Marvel characters on a screen in front of a Transformers vehicle. Considering the pose and the fact that he’s holding the vehicle I’m just going to chalk it up as artistic liberty and not any indication there will be a Hulk AA. Would be cool though.

To me the pose and the fact that he appears to touch the vehicle indicates more physical form to me. As it would be too hard to pull off in my opinion to have a character on-screen convincingly physically touch the vehicle.

This would also lead into @D.Silentu believe there is more interactivity between guests and the action. As why would Hulk try to keep up from danger if we weren't involved in the action in some way.

I agree that at face value it would seem to indicate that Hulk will be there physically. But his pose and action to me is so exaggerated that I’m more 50/50 and leaning that it’s just artistic liberty. Hmmm but now as I think it through… If any Avenger should be an AA, it would be the hulk so scratch that - I’m slightly leaning that it will be an AA. Hopefully to go along with a large King Thanos AA.

Yeah,

I just assumed this would be one of the 3D tricks employed in many of those rides... Lots of times a Transformer, or Spider-Man villain latches onto the ride vehicle, using 3D.

Yeah that’s kind of where I was at. But is it just coincidence that they chose the Hulk (the Avenger who would make for the best AA)to be in the foreground looking like a physical figure? Maybe. But between the character choice and my wishful thinking I’m going to lean AA. Probably against my better judgement.
