Mostly depreciation. Fixing/replacing hard assets.
Lot of new infrastructure such as the Skyliner and re-doing the entrances to all the parks.
And when they added new attractions, they were famously over budget.

They have more than made up for that period of lost revenue between price increases, new revenue streams, and lowered operational costs.I’m starting a go fund me to help Disney recover from the horrors of the US Treasury/World Bank backstopped “non-recession” due to a six month shutdown of some things 5.5 years ago…
We all need to do our part and contribute whatever we have so they can afford to introduce new lightning lane packages, premade conveyor belt style bars next to fantasyland…and maybe enough left over to fix the track lighting on the ground at Epcot between the outhouse statue and the “holy planter”
Do your part…I’ll only be taking 5% as a small fee to cover administrative/overhead costs.![]()
So is Figment 4.0 part 2’s budget going to get slashed for the ongoing maintenance/improvements to TBA?I distinctively remember hearing that Tiana's Bayou Adventure stole the budget for a fourth Imagination too.
You're right, I forgot to mention buying Hulu and Fox. And installing a global streaming network.
Any other excuses? You're right, I forgot to mention buying Hulu and Fox. And installing a global streaming network.
Disney now owning Family Guy is annoying enough without it also being the reason we don't have Dreamfinder back yet. You're right, I forgot to mention buying Hulu and Fox. And installing a global streaming network.
Yes but at least JIIwF is something. Wish I could say the same thing about the Peoplemover/Rocket Rods. Not as big in scale, but Imagination Pavilion is Florida's version of Disneyland's Tomorrowland....severely neglected after an embarrassing penny-pinching revamp failed.
You think that's bad, Remember the time I sang La Cucaracha for Paul McCartney?Disney now owning Family Guy is annoying enough without it also being the reason we don't have Dreamfinder back yet.
I do think China's presence in World Showcase is because of the fact that World Showcase is literally a product of the 1980s.Politics.
It would be like asking if Disney should build a Russia pavilion.
Being more specific would invite forum moderation.
It is literally the catchall for the majority of the problems in our world to say the least.I always forget about that one. Wasn't it already in the can, ready to go? Wasn't it to the point of literally being a flip of the switch? The extensive was already done. @MisterPenguin mentioned "Politics" which while being a catchall does kind of answer some things. Shame.
So.... Figment?
Tony Baxter will likely never touch anything at WDI again and as usual for people they have disdain for, they will probably be building an animatronic of him soon.Yeah, about him.
He is still purple, has two tiny wings, and the horns of a steer.
Wish the guy who sang about that was back in the building….and his maker was allowed to work on fixing this Pavillion.

1970s…actuallyI do think China's presence in World Showcase is because of the fact that World Showcase is literally a product of the 1980s.
yes, for almost a quarter century the track has been nothing more than an eyesore and a sad reminder of what once was. Though technically still filled with operating attractions, for over a quarter century I've still viewed the contents of the main Imagination building as an eyesore and a sad reminder of what once was.Yes but at least JIIwF is something. That is an apt description of almost the entirety of EPCOT to me. Though, of course, EPCOT for me died 6 years ago. I was unable to make it to the 1982-1994 incarnation of EPCOT but I would argue that the 1994-2019 era was objectively preferable to right now just on the strength of Reflections of Earth.yes, for almost a quarter century the track has been nothing more than an eyesore and a sad reminder of what once was. Haven't yet been to epcot 3.0. In my opinion, epcot 2.0 was "cool," but epcot 1.0 was the most inspirational experience anyone could have outside a legit church. That is an apt description of almost the entirety of EPCOT to me. I am really disappointed in what we used to call Future World that is now World Celebration.I've been going regularly since 1984 and while I will not say it has the same feeling as the 80s, I still think it provides a level of inspiration. Just from the international CMs I. world showcase to exist g classics like Living with the Land, to the update to TT which is more hopeful about the future of travel, there is definitely a sense of optimism
(Now if they would just fix those dang World Celebration ground lights ....)
