does anybody know of anyone getting ill or dying from taking something free from somebody at Disney world doing a nice thing?

or are we just making up scenarios again.
No but we are saying it could happen where someone who wants to do ill to others could. The world has become a scary place where crazies are everywhere and Disney is not immune to crazies possibly committing harm.
Just because something hasn't happened before doesn't mean it never will happen. No one ever poisoned Tylenol before it happened years ago.
No one ever tampered with grocery store in my area until they caught someone putting needles in food packages. Another disgruntled employee was caught tampering with food by putting razor blades in pizza dough.
All we are saying is that it could happen so why chance it by putting your trust in someone you don't know by drinking or eating items that are randomly left in a hallway.

Kind of the same story of why your are seeing coffee makers being removed from rooms.

I was cautioned not to use the coffee makes in hotels because some deranged, stupid people think it's funny to pee in them!!!

fair enough.

could literally put that theory to anything in life.

why do you drive a car? if the odds of dying are much higher than somebody who posts on a disney fan site coughing on an unopened bottle of water that they are offering to other guests

weird

We drive a car because it’s a necessity in life. We have to drive to get to work, get our kids to school or events, to get groceries. We must drive if there is no alternative. Yes it’s a chancy thing that we may be involved in an accident and die but we take that risk. Picking up someone’s discarded food or drink is very different. It is not a necessary thing. On the street you see the homeless and poor taking food items that were thrown out, but that's completely different from what's going on at WDW.
But yes… everything is a risk in life. We all make choices that are risks and must then live with the consequences. Take someone’s discarded stuff if you want. I will not put myself or my family’s life at peril by doing something so blatantly foolish and risky.
