Yes correct. This is cheaper. I'm not an idiot. I know how a business is run. The Muppets are not nearly in their heyday right now. (that I do say is a good deal of fault by Disney) They are not going to have a brand spanking new E-ticket ride built when they are at a decline.
Would the Muppets be in their heyday if they hadn’t been sold to Disney?
Sesame Street is losing relevance each passing day, Fraggle Rock on Apple is good but not necessarily popular.
Given the current entertainment landscape, I don’t think that any of Henson’s legacy properties can reach their former glory. Especially without the original creative minds that propelled them there in the first place.

Unfortunately, Tony is not exactly popular right now at Imagineering seeing as most of his greatest work has been destroyed and supposedly current Imagineers actually take pleasure in destroying it.

To give a different insight, I honestly loved it and hope it returns in the villians land (it needs more than 2 attractions anyway)
As silly as this sounds, do you think it would fit in a Villains land though? Seems like a thematic shift from the very little we’ve seen so far of the land.

I find it funny that you use two Muppet properties that Disney doesn’t own to show how Disney worsened the muppets

I don’t mind the Aerosmith replacement. I don’t understand muppets. Nothing about the muppets screams thrilling coaster to me.

You know what the Muppets were perfect for?

The show they already had !

Then we have people saying well it’s a great ride so it doesn’t matter.

People said the same thing with Splash. Well it’s a great ride so people will still ride it no matter how bad the re-do is.

Is this how we should look at Disney rides? As long as the ride system is good who cares how bad the theming is ?

Me personally, since it is the most expensive theme park on Earth, expect world class ride systems coupled with world class theming and show.

Anything less is falling far short of the standard that I hold Disney too.

Do you consider the theming around the coaster currently world class?

Give this a chance, it might actually plus the attraction.

I would not say the in-ride effects are anywhere near world class in today's world of cosmic rewind - but given the short turnaround, I doubt we are going to see massive innovation there.

I do think Aerosmith and their music is a far better thematic fit for a thrilling rock and roll based coaster, vs humorous children's puppet characters. Bonus points toward park theming since they played on the sunset strip during a famous musical era matching this vibe.

I like the Muppets and want to see them in the parks - although it would be a terrible choice overall, I would personally love Paul Williams classic music (Old Fashioned Love Song, etc) and pre show....I know the ride will popular and happy to give it a chance, but given recent Disney efforts, I fear more shoehorned in, retrofited theming.

I don't think we can compare RnRc to Splash. Splash needs a story. RnRc not so much.

RnRC is more of a set-up than a real story....and that works fine. I think the Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem feel more Disney than Aerosmith... I have enjoyed 26 years of Aerosmith and the cute setup storyline premise of the ride....
I am hopeful this refresh with the muppets will be adorable and fun and bring the ride into the 21st century... Hopefully some new set pieces, new music, and some Muppet silliness. I also hope at some point they do something with the outdoor Queue... It would be nice it were not just ferbles under a canopy...but something that feels more whimsical and muppet-like.

I think the theming is an upgrade and hopefully can expose Muppets to a new audience. I think it is a really good fit (though I do think it shouldn't be the only Muppets attraction)

I think the comment of the theme not really impacting the draw of the coaster is more for people that don't think this is a good fit and just that even if Muppets aren't a huge draw as an IP the coaster itself will draw people

I think the queue/preshow has the chance to be the biggest upgrade over the Aerosmith version. Given past trends the exterior has every chance to be cut back, and the coaster itself will probably be very similar to the exisiting version.

It would be nice if they would use this as a jumping-off point to a better-designed Muppets area with a few flat rides, meet and greet, Show and QS... an entire area with something for every age group... And maybe some great nods to Jim Henson and the original Henson studios... Give it some real purpose... not just a one and done overlay.

It's literally just a retheme so the set dressings will change but the ride system will not change.
