DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Combing over Touring Plans attraction ratings: DAK may have lean attraction menu, but it might soon be the strongest.

Kilimanjaro and Flight of Passage are firmly within the top five attractions with the general public on property and Everest seems closely in the running for either 5th or 6th. Indy is a top 10 at Disneyland resort and if Encanto is an actual dark ride E ticket, it also has strong reception prospects. Lion King is the highest rated entertainment on property.
If (a big "if") they also add a new night time show and keep the park open later consistently this will totally transform the park and I think make it a much higher priority for more guests

(Which I am rooting for, I loved AK when it was open late)
People often write about DAK as if the park is hated by guests and has never been successful but it should be remembered that DAK was the 2nd most visited park before COVID and Pandora was such a home run for driving attendance far more than any other WDW expansion in... I don't know. Decades?

It was just very unfortunate that decisions were made during COVID to self-sacrifice DAK by removing the night time programme which basically turned back park ops to pre-Pandora and scrapping Primeval Whirl which left the park with one less attraction and left Chester and Hesters feeling semi-abanonded. And as a result park guests now treat the park as they did pre-Pandora.

Oh I love AK - just miss getting to enjoy it at night as it had such a great vibe

It looks like the show building is rising above the mountain,,,or is that something else hopefully in the background
If you're talking about the blue thing behind the mountains, I don't think that's the show building, that probably is something else in the room not TA/Encanto attraction related. But if you look to the right of the Casita, you can see rocks/greenery, so I'm guessing that's the show building

It looks good. I've already said until I am blue in the face (or, numb fingers from typing) there was zero need to remove Dinosaur/Dinoland for any of this, but here we are. I'm making peace with it. I do think Zootopia opening in November more or less solidifies Dino is closing right after the New Year, IMO. I was figuring they wouldn't be dumb enough to close yet another attraction until they had at least something new to open.

I'm hoping for some dinosaur easter eggs in the new land. I was thinking a Dino on the carousel would be nice but I guess they won't do that without having a strong/relevant dino IP.

Encanto somehow skipping Coco, Moana, Inside Out and Zootopia in getting a ride at WDW is pretty funny

Nobody would've guessed this in 2021 after the box office numbers
Same here. Honestly, it's surprising to me that Encanto got a ride at WDW before Coco, Moana, Inside Out and Zootopia, especially Inside Out as that franchise has really good potential for something at EPCOT, but I guess it's kinda similar to Figment. Coco we're getting at DCA so there's that, Moana and Zootopia I wish we can get something for both on either parks, but I maybe we could see something for either if Disneyland Forward gets more concrete plans?

Off topic, but what's more surprising is how despite Encanto being 3 years old (soon to be 4 this year) and that it hasn't really been getting any new content besides books and comics which is typical for all popular WDAS/Pixar franchises, it makes we wonder if Disney wants to do more with Encanto after Jared Bush and Bryon Howard finishes Zootopia 2, but I guess the two are going to have to juggle a possible Encanto 2 with Moana 3 which is probably going to happen IMO.

??? I didn’t know about bugs inventing and wearing backpacks and hats. Grasshoppers being authoritarian and sadistic regimes willing to kill their own to prove a point.

a circus? Building a giant bird plane? Come on man, this is not a story about bugs. It’s a human story about an underdog rising up
You've confused the movie with the attraction. The attraction highlighted individual insects and their traits. The movie still was not quite a stand-in for humans as much as Zootopia is though. They're basically furries.

Moana and Zootopia at least have attractions at WDW, even if they're not rides. Encanto did have a larger presence in popular culture, especially with the soundtrack being in the charts which is a rarity nowadays for any form of musical movie (I'm aware that the K Pop DEMON Hunters song has appeared in the UK charts too now)

It is a shame that DAK doesn't have a Rivers Of Light replacement in development and ready to roll out when they close Dinosaur... Seems like they have never quite been able to figure out how to do a night entertainment there after the dismal failure of ROL. It seemed like they were on to something....then the show devolved into another lackluster "film clips on water screens" production that even had kids yawning. They need to add show scenes and make the river an attraction.... Dredge out the lake, concrete the bottom and recreate the system they use for World Of Color... Bring back daily parades... The park is beautiful but really needs something.....
