Got to ride this with my entire party of 11 last Friday (thanks to WDW & Epcot management for the special moment) getting two cars entirely to ourselves!
In my opinion, 1.0 is still the best version. It's what the track layout was designed for, made the most sense throughout, and was cleverly written. 2.0 was really meh, though I liked the glowy visuals.
As for 3.0, it is definitely an improvement, though again, it's being shoehorned into the track layout for 1.0, which results in some random "smart road" thing, and then the driving through the forest part, which was nice (I guess), but it serves no real purpose. Should have brought the Sea Serpent back in some capacity.
The future city screen at the end is great, and the doors being open didn't distract from it as much as I thought. The speed part still rocks, though I felt like ALL the elevation changes throughout the ride were really rough, and I didn't remember that from the past (though it's been over 10 years since I rode 2.0).
The adults in my family were not impressed by it, but we were really big fans of 1.0 (and John Michael Higgins!). The kids (ages 8, 7, 5, and 3) were terrified at times (the 3 yr old, who barely hit 40 inches right before the trip, was terrified the entire time), but the 5 yr old declared it his favorite ride of the trip and the other two "loved it" afterwards.
Again, I really want to shout out WDW & Epcot management for making it possible for us to ride this early, despite having no "special privileges" like DVC or AP or Cast Member connections. Definitely the most "gruntled" I've felt about things in a long, long time.
