They could always reskin it as a FNAF ride. Then they can neglect it as much as they want and it'll still be theme appropriate and attract children and Gen Zers. They can even sell broken merch and rotten food from the dumpsters.

Remember - history could repeat itself we get a Tiki Room Under New Managment situation. All it'd take is a little pixie dust and some..

For legal reasons I must point out this post is a joke

Just turn off the lights and music. Send riders through the dark with only the sound of rushing water and squeaking metal.

Instant horror attraction.

What if they were planning to make some small but meaningful changes, similar to what happened with the Mermaid ride? And the lack of maintenance is because that’s coming sooner rather than later?

Probably wishful thinking but would be nice to see.

When i rode at DL last month one of the Louis
AA’s was missing part of his mouth exposing the robotics of the AA. It’s baffling.
Dave Ensign was spitting facts when he said there was no way those new animatronics would survive long in the same humid, mold-ridden building from the 80s/90s due to their mechanics and programming.

SM was able to because of the simple hydraulics most of the figures used- though the movements would be limited. But yeah- I can see how those A1000s would have issues being surrounded by splashing water, old show buildings, and summer temperatures on both coasts.

I still just want to call out how upset I am at the facade of the attraction. DL’s version looks better than MK’s, but both look so unfinished and boring without a central focal point on top. I can’t get over how they promised reusing the tree stump as Mama Odi’s boat but failed to deliver, and I don’t think the foliage is great either- it doesn’t quite feel very Bayou-esque at WDW’s compared to DL’s..more like a Rainforest Cafe facade.

It would have looked so beautiful with the fire fly projecting mapping at night. I just don’t get why it was cut- it clearly could have been done using forced perspective- nobody expected them to build full-scale boats.

I have spoken positively of this ride and very much enjoyed it when I rode ...BUT when I did everything was working, can't defend them not maintaining the ride though
What’s most worrisome is this is not a one-off situation. Over on the DL thread they point out how jacked up that version of the ride is as well on the D+ POV. Couple that with the EPCOT issues keeping the lights on, one has to question the quality of the end product with all these buildouts underway. That Cars system feels like it will be an operational headache (and TT and RSR aren’t exactly models of reliability).

How many rides should be down right now if Disney actually shut down rides with major effects issues?

We've got Tiana's (everything), Dinosaur (broken final carnotaurous), Finding Nemo (broken angler fish), then Little Mermaid (Ariel's mouth) and Everest are both running on "well, it's been broken for a long time, so it's okay".
Rise if we count the cannons not working

I don't think the facade is that bad, but yeah it's defo missing something, if I could add something to the facade to the ride, I would add some trees and bushes to it to make it look more forested and look like an actual bayou.

It’s almost as if some of us predicted this years ago, but were called haters and trolls for pointing out the impending train wreck.

Go figure.

Speaking of not being a “one-off” situation:

Please… I’m sure Walt at one point said that breakdowns and lack of maintenance are an important Disney Hallmark.

Why do you hate the authenticity being conveyed by the hard working box checks at WDI?

Splash Mountain was designed for Splash Mountain. TBA was not designed for Splash Mountain.
This is the thing. It was not only needlessly destructive to Splash, but it was also only partially destructive.

They half-assed it.

If they were dedicated, they could have demolished what was there and started from scratch and built a REAL Tiana ride. I would have hated losing Splash, but at least they wouldn’t have used the corpse of Splash Mountain to gloat about the companies “values”.

Furthermore, something tells me all those extra “research” trips to New Orleans could have covered the cost of the demo.
