Again why are people calling these excuses? Do I need to say it again for people in the back of the room. Disney failed in the face sculpt for Walt. Trump 2.0 IS NOT an improvement in my opinion. Had we gotten something the same level as Trump 2.0 it still would have looked off to everyone here. So that is an excuse that you all are trying to gaslight everyone here with. Trump 2.0 is a failure too, period end of story. Sure its not as bad as Trump 1.0, but its still a failure in my book. And you all want to call me a pixie duster, geez.
It comes down to the medium being used in my opinion. Doing a face sculpt for a statue or other static sculptures using a static medium like rock or metal is a whole lot different than trying to mold latex (or whatever material they use for skin these days) over an articulating AA head that has to move and talk and be expressive under lights for 18 hours a day.So you're saying no has created life life sculptures in recent decades? There are no statutes anywhere in the world? No busts? No 3D models?
The point is, Disney isn't the only place modeling is done... and if they don't have the inhouse expertise, you hire it in. Which is exactly what they used to love to boast about when chasing the best of the best for specialists.. like the guy who painted RSR.
Way off? Really, the thing looks like Trump sat in the sun cooking for 18 hours and his makeup (because he is known to wear makeup) is melting off his face.I think you're way off on your opinion of Trump 2.0. It looks much more like Trump than Walts AA looks like Walt.
I don't have a reason, yes the eyebrows are too large and bushy and need to be shaved down. The only thing I have to say to that is maybe its over accentuated because its meant to be viewed from a far? I dunno, that is not an excuse just maybe an explanation, like how a stage actor may wear larger features to accentuate something so that everyone in the theater can see it.I didn't mean your excuse. I meant what's one good reason they would mess up the eyebrows so bad? There isn't. I cant think of one.
Those are constraints you work within.. and ultimately you decide which things are more important. It comes down to the medium being used in my opinion. I think most people are bothered by the fact they didn't put visual realism at the top of the list for the guy who literally was the face of the company. They instead focused on the guy standing up.. and for the thing everyone sees first.. they said 'good enough'.
I mean it wouldn't have taken much of a focus group effort to put this guy statically in front of a crowd and say "who is this?"

Nope, he is more vain than that. Which is why he has tanner on his face all the time, like he just stepped out of a spray tanning booth.ummm, Isn't this how looks in real life?
I suppose its possible but what, the people in the front half of the theatre don't count?
Actually now that I think about it, maybe that is how he really looks at the end of the day when he takes all his makeup off.ummm, Isn't this how looks in real life?
The Trump AA is a solid improvement but at its core still looks very robotic. The Walt AA is the first I’ve seen that actually could pass for a human in some moments.
FTFYyou're on adiscussionpointless argument all in good fun forum!
Just pretend he's wearing an Anonymous mask and only look at the neck down.. and the figure's movements are very natural. He has this rock to him to make him seem more natural.. finger twitches.. and his arms and hands don't look like this guy..Which moment is that, when you blink? Cant be head on because those eyes are downright scary.
the flattened really looks betterI did a quick photoshop to flatten (make skinner) the Walt animatronic's head while keeping the face the same size. It's still not perfect, but a far better likeness imo.

The actual animatronic looks like they just put a rubber Walt mask over Lincoln's face without first removing the Lincoln mask lol.
I dont think they are actually using hand skilled artists anymore, its all being designed in computer systems and then constructed off of that. Have they mentioned anything about Imagineering designing this by hand? Just wondering as I haven't read everything about the show.
