You mean like when they built the place?

Or like everyone crying to expand instead of replacing the ROA?

Or how about when they built that road right around the place they are building now?

What is the common theme here? That everything disrupts the habitat and they have means in play to manage it... before, and now. The RoA is not a natural habitat.
True it wasn't, but after 50 some years became one in a sense.

'in a sense'? It's still a managed artificial pond - Treated and environmentally managed to do what the theme park needs of it. The place is surrounded by far more undisturbed and areas left to nature.

Next people will be complaining removing the steamboat will be contributing to global warming due to the power increases...

Do you guys have any favorite details on the island, boat, or river route?

Mine is the fossils in the walls of the tunnels, and the gold in the walls in the part that's supposed to look like a mine shaft.

The smugglers cave you see from the riverboat.

It's just a static scene with a hidden speaker, but works so well at sparking your imagination and interest at what could be happening inside.

In case you haven't noticed... there is still a giant swamp and forrest around the whole place.
Yeah. MK was built on top of the dirt dug out for SSL. Preserving the environment isn't a reason for saving ROA especially when MK land is coded as "Entertainment." Its about preserving Walt's legacy most of all.

In the Parks
No
The plan has been to park it somewhere else on property, Grand Floridian is the last location I heard. I hope it finds a new home.
Really hope that happens, don't want to be demolished. It's such a beautiful ship. Here's a free idea for Disney, turn it into a fireworks cruise on seven seas lagoon.

I genuinely wonder if there are any creatives involved with this project who think it’s a good idea. It just seems utterly doomed to be remembered pretty universally as an indefensible mistake, something akin to the replacement of Imagination.
I don’t envy the position of the imagineers designing this. If I was in their place (forced to replace an important part of the parks basic framework. Forced to use an ip that doesn’t jive with the rest of the land) i would be under a lot of pressure.
