Do you really think they're going to build an Encanto attraction that focuses on Antonio over the more popular merchandisable characters like Mirabel and Bruno? And without the iconic "We Don't Talk About Bruno" song?

Is Antonio even a super-popular character? Not just with the general public, but just with Encanto fans?
Mirabel’s going to be in the ride. Bruno most likely going to at least have a cameo in the walls since the ride takes place leading up to the gift ceremony. The song is probably going to be in the queue at least.

From a glance, Antonio is probably mid tier fandom wise.

The ride was always going to focus on Mirabel since she's the protagonist of the film and she's popular. If they made the ride about Antonio and the rest of the Madrigals are side characters in this ride, then it really doesn't work that well and it makes more sense for Mirabel to be the main character of the ride with the rest being side characters. And I'm sure Antonio will be involved in some way, sure maybe not the main character per say, but probably important like a sidekick if that makes any sense.

I mean yeah he is, sure he's not #1 most popular, but you get people who like him because he's a cute character and all.

Exactly. I'd be shocked if the animals were very important seeing as they're minor characters at best in the movie.

Again, if they had no intention of at least superficially featuring animals prominently, they would not pick Antonio’s ceremony as the basis for the ride. That does not mean that the Madrigals won’t show up, that songs from later in the film won’t be sung as lightly modified reprises (in the same vein as Frozen Ever After), or that they won’t drop the ball on exploring anything deeper than “look at all the animals”.

Obviously the while family will be in the ride.

That would be like building a Star Wars land without Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Or Princess and the Frog without Naveen, Facillier, or Ray. Oh, wait…
The mind boggles. A passive Ray-narrated ride that turns active with Facilier would have been pitch perfect. And don't even get me started on the knockoff Star Wars land. At least Encanto looks to deliver and Indy has actual talent behind it.

Tbf, Ray and Dr. Facillier are dead by the end of the movie, so how would you really explain them being physically present in TBA if they're dead by the time TBA takes place in unless they somehow magically appear there for some reason

By having the ride take place during the film.
Or... Bringing back Faciliar because of whatever reason they would want to concoct.

It's weird that people keep flip flopping on wanting book reports vs not. But imo bringing Facilier back would be the one thing missing from TBA that I would really want. But I probably wouldn't even bring him back, I would bring his shadow back in a little (mostly projection) based fight as you rise up the lift hill with Mama Odie's magic being the final push to send you down the hill to get you away. To add to it, the shadow would be seen creeping in the background in certain scenes as it tracks you down.

At the end of the day, you don't know what the attraction is going to be. None of us do. I could just as easily maintain that of course they are going to centre it around animals and it will be appropriate for the park because that is what they have indicated, but I have as little idea if that is true than you have of your negative assumptions.

Oh, that's easy...
