They cleared alot for studios too. Part of that was for the new fireworks launch but nothing else was used. They are clearing an inordinate amount of land though… I don’t think that’s remotely the rationale.

Yeah, you’re right. That’s what Walt envisioned. He wanted all that space (44 square miles) so that in the future they would remove the Rivers of America, the Mark Twain River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island from the the most iconic theme park in the world. How silly of me.(Look up the word “sycophants.”)
Again - you are adding words - “without having to..” is no where in his statement nor implicitly part of it.
Nothing in that film script says they won’t remove things. Just stop with the WWWD - dude never even saw this place and has been dead for over 50 years.
He wasn’t even big on the idea of a theme park in Florida and had no idea what it would contain.Yeah, you’re right. That’s what Walt envisioned. I mean… John Hench is dead too… but I can be quite certain he wouldn’t have approved of the poly tower the way it looks.Just stop with the WWWD - dude never even saw this place and has been dead for over 50 years.

You do realize they will remove her the same way she's removed for refurbishment. She will be towed out by way of the canal along the west side of MK into SSL, over the water bridge, into Bay Lake, and around to the boat dock on the NE side of MK/NW side of Bay Lake. It wouldn't surprise me if they did this in the dead of night. As to what happens to herLooks like they put up a blue temporary dam ready to drain RoA, are they just going to lift the boat out of the water and dismantle it using the big thunder crane?

Except the image shows they’ve already dammed the canal to prepare for draining the rivers. Why would they have done that if they would then need to remove the dam to tow out the boat before they can actually start draining? You do realize they will remove her the same way she's removed for refurbishment. Its not the first time they've drained the rivers either. Why would they use a crane to remove her when all they have to do is tow her to the boat dock. It will certainly be the last time its drained.Except the image shows they’ve already dammed the canal to prepare for draining the rivers. Unless the dam is there for some other reason.
I know it’s not the first time they’ve drained the rivers. And I’m not suggesting they’re going to use a crane to move the boat. Its not the first time they've drained the rivers either. Why would they use a crane to remove her when all they have to do is tow her to the boat dock.
So today is Independence Day. There will be a year long celebration of the 250th anniversary of the US culminating one year from today. Just waiting for the media stories on Disney tearing out The Rivers of America and The Liberty Belle as we are celebrating the 250th anniversary of the US. Really bad optics for a company that used to be known for Americana and family. Good luck with that Disney.
Spitballing here. Normal procedure. Temp dam put in place in canal. Liberty Belle is on a track. Track is switched to lead her out of canal. Gate opened between canal and Rivers. Water floods in from River. Belle led out into canal. Gate closed. She is moved into a mount. Water drained. She is unconnected from track. Blue dam removed. Water floods in from canal. Belle moves out of mount. She is floating on her own. Tug attached. She is towed out.I know it’s not the first time they’ve drained the rivers. And I’m not suggesting they’re going to use a crane to move the boat.
But I’m saying if they were planning on moving the boat out through the canal to SSL, they wouldn’t have already set up the dam to start draining the rivers.
Why would they put the dam there now if they know they’d need to immediately remove it to tow the boat out before they start draining it?
So my assumption is they’re not planning on towing the boat out, and they’re probably just going to dismantle it in place.
