EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

Even if they have plans to reimplement this effect, it won’t be anytime soon. They must have some type of safety investigation protocol to investigate what lead to the incident. They then have to plan how to fix and then actually fix the problem(s). Also, I highly doubt they have a replacement styrofoam door lying around, which means that it must be fabricated. That takes time.

This has actually happened before.

They do fix it. Any on another attraction if a ride vehicle had crashed into a door that failed to open causing injury, it would definitely result in a much longer downtime as they do a thorough investigation and an action plan for that attraction. For test track, specifically in this spot, It's kind of a thing hence the attraction is already operating.

They'll fix the door.

Buddy of mine bought a new Sierra a few months ago. I’ve lost count of how many times he’s had to put it in the shop. This failure and that failure, this broke and that blew up. Tried to warn him about that GM crap.
Boggles my mind how anyone comes home with a GM product, outside of say a Corvette - which lacks much direct competition at its price.

The door thing has happened a few times I believe. I though I remember hearing they keep spare doors around.

One TT internet rumor I’ve been wondering about for a while witch falls in line with this is about safety testing.

I read or watched somewhere they disabled all safety sensors during initial ride testing in the 90s. It said it was done as part of the system development since it was a first of its kind at the time. Anyway the story was the car flew around the loop, broke parts in the bogey or something like that, left the track and damaged part of the building requiring repairs and loosing a test car. Anyone know if that is a true story?
