EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

didn't know they were foam. interesting. did the vehicle just keep going then or stop?

I suppose they could re-program it so the doors open before the vehicle accelerates and if they don't open the vehicle doesn't accelerate. not as fun but the scene is no longer a collision test anymore so it could still keep the room dark when first approaching it

Per Doctor Disney
"
The “speed at the door and it opens at the last second” effect at Test Track is currently not operating due to an incident where a vehicle struck the wall
👀

During last night’s Cast Member previews, the ride vehicle struck the wall as it didn’t open as it should have…today, the door is just fixed open.
The third image shows how it normally is upon approach.
According to people spoken to at EPCOT, the four CMs in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries on the scene and not taken elsewhere for treatment
🤕

As of this time, it is not known when the effect will be fixed. Previews (CM, AP, DVC, etc…) continue for the next couple of weeks before the grand reopening of Test Track 3.0 on July 23"

Well that doesn't bode well for it's return :(

Doctor Disney just steals stuff from others to post to his Facebook page. In this case, he stole the information from blogmickey and said that he "spoke to people at EPCOT"

I wonder if a fog effect or something would work if they decide the door effect is too unreliable...obviously fog doesn't make you think you're going to run into it, but just better than nothing
The main issue is the light intensity... you have a big room based on projection and you have this massive spotlight dead ahead. Fog wouldn't block most of that light.

TT2.0 room was darker.. and camera iris isn't as adept as human eyes.. but this video gives a view of how the open doors allows the bright source.

Comparing POVs of the previous two versions (when the door was working), they’ve definitely changed the programmed timings of the doors for this version - they seem to open earlier and slower than both 1.0 and 2.0, which seemed identical. I’d imagine this change in programming might have something to do with the collision.

I hope it closes for a refurb soon. Obviously needs one.

🙄
@marni1971 you're just a hater! So negative! What a troll!

From the makers of Tianna's Breakdown Adventure and the "broken before opening day" Lights of World Celebration, WDI is proud to present Trouble Track, presented by General Motors.

Separately it's nice to know that their sponsored attractions have the same level of quality as their cars and trucks.

Great job WDI, you're now perfectly on par with clowns who make the 6.2L L87 Engine. Maybe just add some 0W-40 oil to the attraction to "fix it". (Sorry I'm a salty GMC Truck owner that has a recalled engine)

Ok so I just posted how this ride was a great upgrade. Now Im back to being very concerned. If the doors are just open the entire time, the bright Florida soon blasting into the room is going to ruin that scene.

Between this and the massacre of Splash, that’s two major refurbs where major effects are not working almost immediately.

I hope they get this figured out but if those doors are stuck open all the time my excitement for this ride has dropped immensely.

Dude... the ride isn't even officially open yet. Give them at least until opening to see if they can fix the doors before you declare it dead and gone.
