EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

The Magic Eye Theater has a very long history of having nothing to do with Figment. I’m not really sure what you hope to achieve with your regularly scheduled diatribe. It either stays Pixar shorts or gets updated to some IP or other. Figment isn’t getting two attractions.

I was referring to the ride through Attraction.
Perhaps I should have clarified.
Some folks seem to think the ‘Inside Out’ overlay rumors are for the ride.

Magic Eye will seemingly always be a somewhat wasted space until someone somewhere with the authority decides it can better than it currently is.
Same goes for the current ride through Attraction next door.

Something needs to happen eventually, but a Pixar overlay is not the answer.

I'm guessing a Jungle Book overlay to Kali

Whoops. Wrong IP! But whatever. The chance to mainline IP into a main attraction and they don't go for it?! For shame Disney, for shame! Seriously, Kali sucks. Get to it!

Now that armchair imagineering is just real (door coaster, Villains Land, change Dino to Indy, put Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem in RNRR), I feel like Inside Out in the Cranium Command theater is more likely than Imagination 4.0 being Inside Out featuring Figment.
Yep. Fan service as one final hurrah. Scary thought isn't it?

Imagination 4 is a "In case everybody is ed off at us, break glass" move. I think that criteria has been reached.
The final lever. https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads...aced-by-figment.957141/page-277#post-11124824

Why? Does management dislike Baxter?
He is a second generation Imagineer who was trained by Walt's original Imagineers who believed in quality original attractions also he was lead designer on Splash Mountain which modern Disney considers an "Ugly part of the company's past" Does that sound like someone current management would want to bring back?

They famously dusted him off and brought him out of retirement to work on Tiana.

And how did that work out? Other than a preemptive way to stave off criticism of the project (“It’s going to be quality since Tony’s involved!”) it seems he was cast aside early in the development process.

Heck, there’s more photographic evidence that he’s experienced Epic Universe attractions than any similar proof of him riding Tiana at either DL or WDW.

I love Figment and want the best ride ever for him.... with that being said:

HYPOTHETICALLY - If Disney does what we all want on these forums and revamps the Figment ride and it's legit very good...... but still stays a walk on, because to the masses (not the 1,000's of Disney heads like us) he's just not that relevant..... then what?
Then it’s an enjoyable walk-on that didn’t induce much demand—which is something we also want. It might not be great for the character long-term, but as long as it’s not a complete disaster, they probably won’t touch it again for another 20 years regardless. It also would still increase the overall value of Lightning Lane at the park, which is now a consideration.

With the dawn of the Instagram Influencer, I highly doubt a new figment ride will be a walk on unless its somehow worse than the current ride.

That said, if your scenario were to happen, I'd imagine corporate will proceed to leave it as-is for the next 2 decades at least.

I mean, we have other historical examples of this, right? I don’t think Gran Fiesta was ever much more popular than El Rio and it’s still here despite having another popular IP that would be an easy retheme. Nemo is also typically a walk-on and they haven’t done anything there either.

I feel like, as long as the new attraction is well received, it would have a life span equal or greater than the current version.

This is where they would then leverage their streaming service to prop up a relatively unknown character or reintroduce him to the non-Disney Park visiting masses. Make him more relevant with a show or movie.

Didn't they mention plans for Figment shorts at a recent shareholders meeting?
From March:
I think this is my 24th shareholder call, my 18th as CEO, and I think the question about Figment has been asked about 15 times. I call him Good ‘Ole Figment. Clearly he’s popular with shareholders from the fact that they ask questions about him all the time. We also know that he’s popular at Epcot, where you can meet him at Journey Into Imagination.

But I’ll tell you what: I have been asked this so many times, I am going to ask our creative teams to consider making some form of series or short-form videos of Figment. Obviously he’s more popular than just a walk-around character at our parks and resorts.

Is this where we rehash the debate over whether or not Mexico can handle a more popular ride?
