But it isn’t opening worldwide this weekend.Elio now at 86% on RT based on 95 reviews
Current industry prediction is a $50 million global opening weekend
You were a lot more emphatic and without any qualifiers in the Box Office thread (and there’s a bunch of receipts).Except per Box Office Theory, the HIGH-END tracking of The Fantastic Four’s opening weekend suggest a billion is possible, IF the movie is good
The Wrap and Vulture basically are bloggers that look prestige and connected because they're part of The Wrap and Vulture... but really aren't.Sure

That’s just wrong. You were a lot more emphatic and without any qualifiers in the Box Office thread (and there’s a bunch of receipts).
As for Elio, it’s settled into Good Dinosaur/Brave territory in RT, and the opening weekend prospects are looking very grim.
Anyway, we’ll see how this ages:

I wasn't interested enough to see it in theaters, but because of the good recommendations it's getting I'll go check it out.
Saw it tonight, it was really good. My comment before about it reminding me of Explorers from the 80s was pretty spot on.
There were no “bloopers” during the credits or at the end, at least at my showing. And as far as Hoppers, they had a little what I would call a “bumper” after all the credits, with a few second sequence that doesn’t even indicate what it’s for until they flash the “Hopper March 2026” title card and it goes black. So that is even less than they did recently with the teaser for Zootopia 2. So I don’t expect anything in relation to Hoppers until August with maybe Freakier Friday.
Also this is the first time in a very long time where only Disney movie previews played in-front of the movie. Don’t know if this was because it was a Thursday “preview” or what, but it was refreshing.
Thanks for posting a receipt or two.You were a lot more emphatic and without any qualifiers in the Box Office thread (and there’s a bunch of receipts).

Funny, since you were the one insisting we would get a teaser with Elio, which I told you at the time not to expect it and seems I was right to tell you that.My thoughts exactly on the Hoppers teaser trailer.
Still feel that what we got of Hoppers was an end-credits teaser similar to that of the first Avengers movie after the end credits of Captain America: The First Avenger.Funny, since you were the one insisting we would get a teaser with Elio, which I told you at the time not to expect it and seems I was right to tell you that.
Nope, not at all the same thing, as its not even a teaser. That "bumper" as I'm calling it really didn't give any indication it was for Hoppers, or even what they were trying to "tease" until the title card popped up. At least with Avengers you have some indication what its for.Still feel that what we got of Hoppers was an end-credits teaser similar to that of the first Avengers movie after the end credits of Captain America: The First Avenger.
28 years later debuted at $5.8 million.Well, folks, we have the opening night numbers for Disney/Pixar’s #Elio, it managed to hit the high-end of its opening night numbers with a $3M opening night number, which I know includes $500K from the Early Access Screenings on Wednesday, which without means it did $2.5M (barely $100K higher than Elemental’s opening night number) but, even without it, it’s still $100K higher than Elemental’s $2.4M opening night number.
Might still leg out like Elemental did if word of mouth is strong.![]()
Box Office Preview: Will ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Eat ’28 Years Later’ and Pixar’s ‘Elio’ for Lunch?
Projections are all over the place for Danny Boyle's long-awaited '28 Days' sequel as 'Elio' braces for a soft opening, and possibly the lowest in the storied studio's history.www.hollywoodreporter.com
Prerelease tracking suggests that Elio — about a young boy whose wish to travel to outer space and interact with aliens comes true — will open to $30 million plus in North America. That’s on par with Pixar’s original title Elemental, which was raked over the coals when debuting to $29.6 million in June 2023. That was the second-lowest, 3-day debut of all time for Pixar behind the $29.1 million launch of its first very first film, 1995’s Toy Story, not adjusted for inflation. (Toy Story opened over Thanksgiving, and amassed $39 million over the long five-day holiday weekend.)
Different audiences.28 years later debuted at $5.8 million.
The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, and Variety are not shill publications…. They are highly respected media in the industry…. I have rarely seen articles that are purely rumors….. most of what they print eventually happensbased on the 4 Hollywood-shill websites he frequents.
Yeah. Tell them, DK.The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, and Variety are not shill publications…. They are highly respected media in the industry…. I have rarely seen articles that are purely rumors….. most of what they print eventually happens
Also when Vulture reports something positive they are shills… but negative…. Posters will site vulture to embolden their opinions
