EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

I'm just glad they didn't pull the IP mandate-card for this one. I don't think these forums could have handled more IP at Epcot.

Maybe Cars in Frontierland, saved us from a Test Track Cars retheme?

I think the "inspired by World of Motion" bit is filling that role. They like to throw old Epcot around.

Along with it having a sponsor, of course.

GM continuing to invest saved us.
As soon as Disney loses the GM sponsorship Disney will JAM a IP into that attraction!

It makes me think. Does the Disney's theme park business pay a license fee to another business unit within TWDC; moving fake money from one pocket to another?

Probably. It’s possibly worse than that too, I’d guess they have some separate entity names and eins within WDW services. So they move money around for each others internal services.

I don’t know, but it’s possible.

I hate screens. I participate on these forums by repeatedly punching the monitor.
And now your daily reminder to stop punching the bus monitor or risk expulsion.

Yes they do. Just like other corporations with multiple businesses.

That and GM staying are probably the only reason that didn't happen. Now that Spaceship Earth has all but confirmed it's not looking for a new sponsor seeing as how the sponsor lounge is now a bar. There is nothing stopping Disney now from slapping IP into Spaceship Earth which puts me in the odd position that I am hoping the Dench version continues to run as long as possible.

I don't think not having a lounge would be a deal breaker for another sponsor to enter the fold, though the sponsorship model is all but dead for large attractions. The expense to get SE up to snuff would be a barrier to entry.

does anyone know if the test track system allows for adjustments or are the imagineers trapped within the confines of the system? For example, does the initial speed up to test the brakes always have too do that or can they change it to go slow? Or the part with the semi truck you avoid, could they adjust that part of the track to not always be the same? It seems like some of those things constrain them into having to work around these old ideas.
