They also moved Mickey Mouse Revue from MK to TDL (but probably at OLC's request)

I like the idea of turning the current (and rather lame if the YT videos are an accurate representation) "Villains" show into a new Muppet Vision theater.


And I'm crossing my fingers that they save, restore, and relocate the Liberty Piggy fountain to the RNR courtyard.

Surely they kept the Fozzie, Gonzo, and Rizzo boats.

Kinda tough to justify with non-theatre based attractions. A set amount of people were always going to be in that theatre, might as well have it predetermined. I personally hate it, they should cut the line at 10 on the dot and whoever is in line gets in, whoever isn't doesn't. The only thing that throws a wrench in that is that they could end up running a show of 20 people for something like Muppets if the wrong number gets in the line.

Or people get seriously hurt mad dashing a few employees at 9:57

It worked well I thought. And positive vi es luckily from the crowd. A way to honor it.

If anything, I think the problem would be that now that there's precedent the mad rush to be the last just happens in the morning.

They probably won't try it for non-theater attractions, though. Imagine the fights when there's only like ten seats to give out.


Ideally, I think it would have been cool if they gave it out during the day to the people with the cool outfits or homemade Muppets, but people would've inevitably started requesting them and getting mad if they didn't get picked.

I can say this, I'm there now. We aren't going to any parks, just walking around the resorts, swimming and doing other stuff outside of Disney. I have a lanyard of muppet pins I've been collecting for years. So far, every cast member who has noticed it, have been bashing Disney hardcore for closing MV3D. It's very funny really. I expected it from the guests, but it's funny how open the cast members have been.

The retheme of RnRC may feel like a consolation prize but that means the Muppets are still around. Whenever HOP reopens, they could bring back the Muppet preshows.

But you're right that X posters are doom and gloomers.

They’re not dead. But there’s little reason to believe that whatever Muppets thing Disney comes up with (roller coaster or something else) will be better than MuppetVision 3D. So I understand the doom and gloom

I think they're mourning the loss of the final Muppet project Jim Henson worked on prior to his death. Meaning it's "The End of The Muppets from the Jim Henson Era".

I'm assuming you truly don't understand how huge The Muppets was during Jim's lifetime. They were so popular that The Muppets gained not only a popular animated spinoff series in 1984, but various successful (and a few duds) theatrical movies. They were so prevalent in pop culture that they were giving Disney a run for their money. Which gave Henson the idea on selling The Muppets to Disney since he believed Disney would treat them either with the same love and respect as Disney Characters at the time.

Also this is coming from the same guy who constantly fears "Disney will go bankrupt" someday over occasional box office disappointments and negative feedback from the public.

I'm fully convinced it's only a matter of time before we get the announcement that one's leaving.

It's not generating lightning lanes, not an IP, and they clearly don't care about honoring great people's legacy. John is doomed.

And as a full animatonronic show that no one is going to really sit through, I agree.

Sadly, it would be the perfect attraction to truly update inside and out, reinvent while keeping the legacy for the concept. But, it does not do any of the engagements you say.

I am a big fan of CoP, a must do for us every trip and whole family can quote it, etc

But know it is not long for it's theme park life - heck, surprised it has lasted as long as it has

I would love to see it moved to somewhere that is more of a museum and appreciated for its historical context. Would love that for a lot of the originals (Tiki Room, etc) and would also love that for Muppet*Vision due to its historical context
