And now they've been removed from MDE

They couldn't have done something like this even if they don't have a Monster Land graphic ready to go, huh? Would've at least gotten people hyped for Monsters, instead of just making it look like Muppet Courtyard vanished and isn't being replaced

Only makes sense if Disney was willing to add a date. Instead of coming soon say coming summer 2030. Or would summer of 2035 be more realistic?

I'm thinking of the original test track

Assume that will come when closer to Monsters opening or at least a time frame. I mean they haven't even broken ground and a lot can change

I could see going right to the "coming soon" for a quick change, like for when Rock. n Roller Coaster closes for the change to Muppets

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
It is also not coming back to Sunset. If something is worth keeping, you don't close it forever. This is not the way of World's Fair era to Disneyland to Disneyworld with CoP.
I will say that they have relocated old attractions in the past... Specifically the 3d films...

Magic Journeys was relocated from Epcot to Magic Kingdom.
Captain EO re-opened at Epcot as a tribute.

.....It's not that they wouldn't do it. They've done it before... It's that it won't be as good/missing effects and details.

There were no animatronics or live performers in Magic Journeys or Captain EO. When Eo came back, it was not with it's original effects, they reused ones from Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.

At this point I feel like Disney was just being cruel with the vague talk about preservation. They got people's hopes up for something unrealistic for no good reason.

Edit: Okay, that's not really fair; they never indicated moving it was a possibility. Still, would've been better off not making vague comments.

Yes, that did used to happen, but those were films without Animatronics and infastructure directly tied and crucial to the show of what multi media is. So I would say not worth it if just the film. The 3D of Muppets was almost a small aspect that was there for satire more than immersion. Everything else including live performance is what made it great.

Like setting up TVs to have Cranium Command...it would not be the same.

And we are talking about the situation where we currently have non park original content with Pixar Shorts you can watch at home, on a 3D screen designed for original theme park content and was before where we are.

They also moved Mickey Mouse Revue from MK to TDL (but probably at OLC's request)

I like the idea of turning the current (and rather lame if the YT videos are an accurate representation) "Villains" show into a new Muppet Vision theater.

And I'm crossing my fingers that they save, restore, and relocate the Liberty Piggy fountain to the RNR courtyard.

Surely they kept the Fozzie, Gonzo, and Rizzo boats.

On a side note, it seemed like the wristband system for the last show worked well last night to keep order at the end of night. I wonder if they'll keep using it to close attractions.

Kinda tough to justify with non-theatre based attractions. A set amount of people were always going to be in that theatre, might as well have it predetermined. I personally hate it, they should cut the line at 10 on the dot and whoever is in line gets in, whoever isn't doesn't. The only thing that throws a wrench in that is that they could end up running a show of 20 people for something like Muppets if the wrong number gets in the line.

If anything, I think the problem would be that now that there's precedent the mad rush to be the last just happens in the morning.

They probably won't try it for non-theater attractions, though. Imagine the fights when there's only like ten seats to give out.

Ideally, I think it would have been cool if they gave it out during the day to the people with the cool outfits or homemade Muppets, but people would've inevitably started requesting them and getting mad if they didn't get picked.
