Is it rare if it's on the internet now? (I don't mean for that to come across as rude. Genuinely curious when people use the word rare on an internet post)
I've honestly have never seen it and there still hardly any footage of the grand opening of MV*3D. Besides the still photos that are commonly shown..

There's even a segment from the Chicagoland's Bozo Show when it was being filming shows for a week out at WDW and premiered the sneak peek of the Muppets on Location Day of Swine and Roses..

Yet they were smart to have footage of the Grand Opening of DCA version of MV*3D tho..

Will do!

Sweetums used to be a part of the pre-parade unit back when The Muppets were part of Disney’s ‘VoluntEARS’ program.
Mid 2000s or so.
He would walk the parade route with a few performers dressed as painters, along with a small float featuring Kermit and Piggy as themselves.
A few of the Main Street vehicles were also included, and the entire pre-parade would roll the route a few minutes before the afternoon parade.

Once had the honor of riding in the Main Street fire truck during this Muppet themed pre-parade period.
Definately a memorable moment.
Had a nice personal interaction with all three characters ‘backstage’ after the days run as well.
Good times, and Sweetums was awesome as always.
Kermit and Piggy were pretty fabulous too.

I noticed for the first time that the Sweetums who runs around with the flashlight only has one arm, while the one who runs around with the water bucket has two. I get it's so the performer can move the mouth but it looks funny haha

I just created this post to help show support and help how to relocate Muppet*Vision 3D since Disney saids that they’re exploring ways to preserve it. Maybe in Sunset Boulevard area since thankfully they’re coming to Rock n Roller Coaster because it’s perfect fit for Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem {along with Kermit the Frog & Miss Piggy and maybe create a mini Muppet there} or back to Disney California Adventure sharing the Sunset Showcase Theater with Mickey’s PhilharMagic {though you can see them during the Pre-Show for World of Color: Happiness while celebrating their 70th Anniversary which is great}. If you saw this post, please help & show support. Thank you.

Reading about all the stolen glasses makes me realize PhillarMagic will be our only 3d show this trip. How strange, 3d shows were always a big part of Disney.

Those purple 3D glasses are iconic.

Before the Muppets started using them for MuppetVision, they used to be over at the Imagination Pavillion for ‘Magic Journeys’ back in the day.
I remember this clearly, as the purple glasses perfectly matched the color of the Pavillion paint scheme at that time.

Thus why I felt a need to …..uh……well, ‘archive’ a set for the collection of vintage EPCOT Center memorabilia.

The fact I mentioned they have ties to the original Imagination Pavillion will probably mean more will suddenly be swiped….uh, I mean ‘archived’ by other fans.

Sorry, Kermit.
Don’t be angry with me….
Mickey owes me, big time.

I think we all here on the WDWMagic forums are missing a very important thing:

What is @MisterPenguin going to do for food when this show closes? He and his fellow penguins in the orchestra only took the job for the halibut.

statler and waldorf muppets GIF

I'm going to miss MV3D terribly... And before anyone asks - Yes, I did see it (nearly) every time I visited DHS.
This is Mr. Penguin erasure. First they cancel Mary Poppins and now they cut his job? Shame
