No, I would not do that.
I'm being sarcastic to make a point.
I would never take the joy away from an eight year old.
I would certainly enjoy the ride with them, and I don't doubt that even now I would still enjoy Tiana's to an extent even now.
It's not like I'd sit there arms folded and hating it the whole time.
What I would have done in all honesty though is express that I liked the previous ride better if I were to ride Splash with my son's when they were that young and then ride Tiana's as the replacement and the subject came up - as it most likely would.
Then I’m not sure what point you were trying to make. The bolded isn’t the scenario described and doesn’t relate to what I said. It seems you actually agree with my point, just as I agree with you that Tiana is inferior to Splash and not nearly as good as it might have been.

Yeah…I forgot you’re an Lander…

We’re on a bit of a different wave length

The wdw splash was an absolute embarrassment due to lack of maintenance for many years…so my perspective is coming from a lower bar to clear
Splash was in relatively good shape until 2021/2022, when they just let it die until closing it. Before that the only real "embarrassing" time for Splash was in 2010/12 when chunks of the mountain were falling off and practically none of the ride was working:

Now the question is "Why is Tiana in nearly the same condition with 1/3 the effects of Splash?"

No it really couldn’t have

Because Princess and the frog is NOT a top tier franchise.

They have been persistent with it…no doubt…but the facts are the facts. Little blue alien guy has chewed that movie up and spit it out 10 times over…older ones like mermaid and BATB continue to chug…Moana far more successful from an impact/longevity/licensing track record.

It just is what it is. They took a story about a girl baking with voodoo and jazz playing animals and shoved it in there…that was never a recipe for “spectacular”

Planet earth here 🌎
I don’t agree with you that they couldn’t have come up with something better, but leaving that aside, the current experience would be vastly improved if they ensured the animatronics were all working as designed and if they redid the animation of the screen with Tiana and Louis in the log scene.

There were a lot of things shut down/not working for long periods prior to that…the beauty of splash was it had so much crammed in their that it wasn’t particularly noticeable to a lot of infrequent rides

My all time favorite Disney ride. Not really that close. Was on it wdw when it opened for previews…back when those things were more spontaneous…and hundreds of times afterward.

I think we can agree considering the constraints (most self imposed) and the master imagineers that worked on the attraction in the early 90’s that it was never going to be Splash Mountain but I think TBA could have been much, much better.

I don’t disagree with you about the ops. But they just don’t prioritize that anymore. Things don’t work…raise the prices and cut the staff instead.

I definitely enjoy TBA a lot more than some here - but it definitely is dependant on the animatronics working.

I found it to be a very cool experience when the animatronics turn to face you as you approach and then start their lines vs just being in a continuous loop, but obviously that requires they are working

But Song of the South was? Oh okay…

I think it will get love at some point. Maybe add more animals along the way in the sparse moments. My biggest gripe is the lack of tension before the lift hill. Change out the shrinking scene for real tension (creepy swamp, Facilier, the hunters, wrong turn, etc) and I think (when working properly) the ride would improve significantly for most.

Well, neither is Song of the South, but they were able to get a good ride out of the non-problematic animated segments of that movie.

I think The Princess and the Frog had the potential to be a good ride, it's a good movie.

Song of the south was just a convenient option when they needed a ride quick and Baxter pulled a rabbit out of his hat.

I was in no way comparing the two movies

But the new overlay is just that…a “look! Everyone loves this movie, right?” Reskin…

No different than frozen on the maelstrom

So it’s a bit of apples and oranges

I just rode their best example of under delivery due to bad IP the other night as well…
I’ll give you a hint: they charge for it…people for some reason buy it…but not completely…and it has at most a moderate wait now and gets to walk on in the evenings many if not most days…

Song of the South was just quiet enough that they could use parts of it, ie Br'er Rabbit/Fox/Bear, music, ect... for the ride but quietly shuffle the less good parts under the rug. For example, having recently watched the movie, I can tell you it's an absolute slog when Br'er Rabbit isn't on screen.

In my dream world, the “Are You Reeeeady?” scene everyone was picturing for Tiana’s ends up in the new Villains land. It would be a perfect wink to everyone who wanted it in TBA and just all around great material to work with.

Adequate when it should have - could have - been spectacular.
Super Troopers Yes GIF by Searchlight Pictures

If were approving of adequate now thats the problem, it was inexcusable for this to be adequate, which it isn't even that. It was nothing but a in the moment check the boxes project. Honestly they should be cowering embarrassed in a corner at the finished result.

That’s a different point …

Have fun…it was useless to tirade about this for several years in the moment…to perform it again as a reboot is an entire waste of time.
