I dont see how it can't? They have to get in back there and remove an entire island and waterway system, there are no access roads between it and the tracks or even outside of the tracks, except for way off to the left but thats not direct access by any means without going through woods and past the track, unlike Thunder. Im looking at google earth so just trying to eyeball how it can be done without the railroad closing.
They can drain the Rivers like they always do and move machinery and materials in or out from the laydown yards overnight.

Which I get, but this is going to be major earth moving this time.
We honestly don’t really have a good sense of how extensively the existing topography will change. They look to be using part of the existing river basin for water features facing into Frontierland and much of the rest for a lower level of the Cars track. Rockwork will generally either be largely hollow or concealing buildings. They moved a ton of earth and building materials in and out of the center of the park for EPCOT without adding an all-day path to the exterior. They can do it even more easily here with the tracks being the only thing in the way.

Makes sense, lets hope a portion of it is saved in some form.

It’s certainly possible to build a grade crossing for equipment and continue to operate the railroad - but I was expecting it to close since there will be so much of the site close to the railroad.

I’m still thinking the railroad route could be altered slightly as well. Time will tell!
