I don't know if that really works for all of the lands as I'm not sure what flat ride could realistically fit in Africa/Asia areas.
I could definitely imagine a cool spinner like attraction for Pandora though, "like a more intense fair-ground spinner"
I feel like any kind of flat ride would be tacky as hell in Pandora. Or hell, really anywhere in Animal Kingdom. It only "worked" in Dino Land because it was literally themed to a parking lot. I'm not even convinced if the new merry-go-round will fit in

Maybe an avatar carousel would be less boring than the movie though?
Just rode both rides this week, and river journey feels like such a missed opportunity, it's so hollow. Plus all the screenz look horrible now.
I think Pandora could use a jungle gym obstacle course type setup. I feel like the only way a flat ride would work is if it's enclosed and even then, it's questionable.

Imagine if a first timer to the Universal parks goes to Epic first & then USO afterwards. That’ll be a total system shock for them lmao

IOA is one of the best parks in Orlando and USF is not horrible at all.
It’s been getting small upgrades and refreshes here and there while Epic has been under construction.
Now they can fully focus on their main campus since the budget is not tied up anymore.

It’s left me excited when I’ve walked past it so far. I have a good feeling about this new land. It’s the upcoming land that I’m most confident in.
Villains has more potential but I do have a bit of skepticism in its execution or if it’ll even happen.
I think rides being similar across different parks is fine. No one complains about Guardians being Space Mountain like for example.
A flume ride would be perfect for DAK.

The park is aching for that DLP Lion King ride, that should be fast tracked over anything. But it just makes too much sense and we all know that's probably why we won't get it. If we were to it would probably be a value engineered smaller version.

Hmmm if only they had thought that through before plopping it where it shouldn't be. Last month my friend with me said "this feels like Animal Kingdom". Ya think?

I mean I definitely could imagine it being tacky but I more imagined it looking like a repurposed mech or smth with the explanation that it was turned into a motion-simulator like ride for people to experience before they do something else (perhaps Banshee flying)

See I actually find USF pretty bad as I'm not a fan of the screen rides, Rip Ride Rockit is painful for me to ride, Minions rides were both bad as well as Fallon. Fast and Furious is probably the most laughably bad theme park ride still open by any of the major theme park players. The lands are mostly interesting but their themes have been done to death so they often don't feel nearly as unique as they could. Out of the major theme parks in Florida (including even Seaworld + Busch) I find it the most lackluster park. There's not much to redeem it other than Mummy and Gringotts and even then imo Gringotts is the worst major HP ride and the HP lands imo feel very samey with the kinds of shops + restaraunts.
IOA has the potential to be one of the best parks in Orlando but planning has killed a lot of my hype for it + maintenance is not where it needed to be last i went. The state of Jurassic Park River Adventure was HORRIBLE for one of the most popular rides. The broncho's neck was so bad you could see the beam shape just jutting out and it moved awkwardly + the Hadrosaur never came out and the dinosaurs were in bad shape. Lost Continent being a basically closed land you can walk in is pretty embarassing as its just cheap. Plus almost all of the park closes in rain which they definitely should have thought out better. Now don't get me wrong, the rest of the rides are pretty stacked (other than Kong) but Universal definitely needs to spend the money to reinvest in their other parks now that their new toy is open.

Not sure how you figure we're down a ride unless you're counting Primeval Whirl as two rides.
The biggest thing about this expansion is that it's a thematic improvement and a "quality of capacity" improvement shifting Primeval Whirl to a family friendly dark ride.
The more aggressive move for DAK would be to simultaneously build Lion King on the other side of the park.
re: Pandora filler attraction. For gits and shiggles, I told Gemini to Avatar-up a flat ride. Here are the results. I don't know what it is, but it's somehow both awful and awesome at the same time. I suspect if such an attraction were added to the park, it would look terrible during the day.
If we're talking Encanto/Indy expansion (looks up at thread title) I think the focus needs to be on Nemo. That's a pretty substantial plot for future development. Either leveling it or a new show that's themed to Tropical Americas. I guess if they were to do a flat ride here however, I'd probably want it to be Bumper Cars or Bumper Boats for a change.

- Rip Ride Rocket is on its way out and will be closed by September.
- I agree that Jurassic needs a major refurbishment project which they can now work on since capacity is better.
- A Lost Continent replacement is still in development.

That still doesn't defend USF's recent line up of modern stinkers plus imo the Lost Continent should have a replacement before they started closing stuff. Imagine you walked into Africa one day in AK and they said "yeah we decided to close the Safari and FOTK but we don't have any released plans for whats going here"
People would be rightfully ed off.

I think it was a huge missed opportunity to not have an "animal trail" in Pandora analogous to the trails in Africa/Asia but with obviously AA animals. Especially if it would be at least partially indoors and out of the weather. The land is nice to walk about and explore but an explicit path would have really been a good way to round off the land.
We're down a C-Ticket level ride. It (Primeval) is being upgraded to a D- or E- Ticket ride.
Remember the fandom mantra... "Disney parks need more C-Ticket rides."
And Disney execs: "Make 'em all Es!!!"
