EPCOT Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I still really like the redone core of Epcot. The flex space is the weak point for me, but now with it actaually being used for something cool (prop displays).

also the ground lights not working is lame too.

But overall I like Moana a lot, the park vibes, all the trees, the redone communicore, GotG, Space220, the walt statue....most of it im very into.
Which is fine, what is awful is the bland seating and tables and rusty stuff and weird hanging lamps like it was bought at Home Goods. Epcot needs to stay unique, it needs uniqueness in its furnishings. Wooden and rusty feeling even that you don't find at Disney Spring's.

It is amazing to be seeing all the video from the new Epic Universe Park and see how the central core of EPCOT could have looked with a grander vision...Fountains, waterways, trees, restaurants and some attractions all tucked into a beautiful park with grand show elements...instead of dusty corporate business campus with rusty sculptures and non-working light effects... Surprising especially since EPCOT is like twice the size of Epic Universe... If they had to destroy the central core of the park, I wish it had been at least for something like Celestial Park.... I guess we can be excited because we got a meet and greet and "Flex Space/ Cafeteria Building"...

What a response to want hindsight to go after and even complete (before Epic Universe) Disney seemed to be aiming back in 2017.

It reminds me of when Disney went quick on bringing MGM Studios park when they knew Universal was heading over to Florida to bring a Studios Park.

Even that to me seems...well hard to even know what is going on there actually....

Just level the area again and start over.
Bob’s got the money.

Retro is ‘in’ now.
How about just rebuilding what was once there, water features included?
Seems like a win to me.

EPCOT Center got it right the first time.
Why mess with perfection?

It definitely did at it's opening.....but then they started messing with it and opened the plaza up adding more concrete and removing the original water features... That should have been the starting place for this re-imagining...and it definitely needs a large show fountain again...

There was additional water features beyond Fountain of Nations in the 80's. The leaked concept art that was cancelled below really reaks ("nostalgia and today") which is far how more Epcot it is that we know than now which represents something else, a college campus park so why we have no connection or memories with it. Not only is Fountain of Nations and both innoventions building existence you have the park vibe setting with trees too! I'm absolutely sure there's room for Journey of Water too!

I believe that was an option for the latest Epcot renovation that was *not* chosen … keeping/rehabbing the the Communicore/Innoventions East and west buildings, updating the fountain, adding more trees, etc.

You mean to tell us they could have done just a simple update Instead of the Piece of Bleah We have right now!?! I would rather have this!!!! Innoventions loop would still be playing throughout if so...

You know what I think is sad if I had to guess why this concept wasn't chosen, not because anything was wrong with it, but because the other concept of having the festival building that never came. Chapek with Iger must of thought this is so needed for private views of our Harmonious Spectacular. Is Harmonious even the only reason why the idea of the Festival Building existed in the first place. How much do we know if they went with concept not chosen meant Illumination's ROE was staying.
