Serious question (because I'm a grammar nut) but isn't the correct term to "rein in expectations"? Like the reins for a horse while reign is for ruling like a king. I just want to make sure I'm writing it correctly when I use it.

More on topic: @marni1971 do you have positive expectations for the parade or do you think it might be a disappointment?
Yep. Rein.

Almost like raining on a parade. But not quite.

seems like he was just talking about the float count no? I think anyone who expects more than 10 floats from todays Disney company has their head in the clouds lol

Well I’m not sure what he was referring to based on the comment he replied to. Float count I can deal with 9 or 10 floats which now a days is more of the normal. But beyond that I hope we won’t be disappointed.

I just hope it *feels* full and complete and significant/long enough. Whether that is 8 or 20 formal floats and I think that can be achieved or fall short

number of smaller elements and dancers and characters not on floats, etc factors in a lot

hopefully ~20mins long and feels full the entire way no matter the number of floats

Not sure how you get a 20 minute parade from 12 floats. 🤷‍♂️ That would mean either the floats are crawling (30 seconds along any given spot) or there’s like 200 feet between each one. Or there’s a bunch of filler between each one.

“Jimbo, ya gotta slow down! ‘Member, Josh & Jeff said we need to stretch this parade out to 20 minutes!!”
“Man, I’m only going half a mile an hour already, how much slower do you want me to go? Turtles are passing us!”

Paint the Night has 9 floats and is about 17 minutes for a comparison (just going by what I'm reading online). So I think 12 floats for 20 minutes is entirely plausible.

And if it's less, say, 8 floats... then what? SpectroMagic, if memory serves, was about 15 minutes long, with about the same number of floats. I'd hope they aim for that more than PTN. But who are we kidding? They won't.

Well we already have 8 floats confirmed and we'll probably still get at least a Mickey and friends float so and the very least it'll be the same as PTN.

I mean, just brought numbers. There comes old be character segments between, small floats extending sections, etc

Guess just don't want to get too hung up *just* number of floats. As it could have 12 floats and feel like a full parade or 18 but not a lot else and feel empty
