Except those numbers aren't representative of the point he is trying to make. He is trying to talk about screens, not theaters.Because he presents the actual numbers…so there’s no need to try to hint he’s a moron.
And that seems to be happening more and more when the same handful of people don’t like what the numbers say.
We can dispense Kleenex if it’s “too hard” to handle

The “least qualified” are those that make excuses for failures…like the cost of COVID masks
And that bombs will “make” tons of money on streams with dropping subs…where no one is watching them ANYWAY
Snow White is playing in 3750 theaters across an unknown number of screens.
Minecraft is playing in 4263 across an unknown number of screens.
You figure that all 3750 theaters playing Snow White are also playing Minecraft, but not all 4623 theaters playing Minecraft are playing Snow White. So its not like there are more theaters available to play Minecraft that aren't already that are only playing Snow White.
Again its a misunderstanding of the numbers thinking they represent one metric when they actually represent a completely different metric.

I have no financial entanglements with the company whatsoever beyond what I willingly pay them for entertainment and merchandise. As we’ve discussed before, you give Disney many more of your dollars than I do.I hope your not counting on retiring on your Disney stock this week either

I want content that respects the heart of a franchise and honors the original vision.
I want that classic fairy-tale magic, the romance, the “Someday My Prince Will Come” fantasy where a strong, heroic prince sweeps in.
Where did that disappear to? Where is the strong masculine Prince Charming?
We girls love the strong masculine Prince that saves us. I do, not every story but I wanted him in this one. Why didn’t Disney deliver?
Instead, we get a lecture on leadership and empowerment that felt more like a TED Talk than an escape.
Snow White is a ‘progressive sermon’ that ditched the charm for a soapbox and nobody went.
women (me) can be a badass and romantic— Disney flattened Snow White into a one-note powerhouse.
Cast actors who sell the vision, not their own agendas, and don’t mess with what worked just to push a message.
Give us the magic we’re paying for.. maybe too strong. The magic we hope for, we wish for.
sometimes even the fiercest heroine, scratch that.. sometimes I want to be saved by a prince while I’m engaged in the magic of a movie.. and that’s okay. It’s why we show up.

It’s fun. This new Disney film was not fun.
I don’t always want to be a girl boss (except on Tuesday) and I never want to be lectured and Disney has been exceptional at that recently.

Jonathan is strong, masculine, and saves Snow White by waking her from death with love’s kiss. He’s also very handsome to boot. Have you seen the film? If not, I suggest you do, as it sounds as if you’d actually enjoy the romantic elements quite a bit.

Back on topic of Disney box office. Cap4 is about to cross $200M domestic. Still a disappointment for Marvel, so don't think this is some way to distract from that, just keeping things on topic to give updates.
And just so some posters don't think I'm trying to derail the conversation, Snow White is a bomb, a huge bomb, and will still be a bomb tomorrow, and next week, and next month.

I want the postmodern fun of the 1990s and 2000s, when skilled directors walked the line between respecting and poking fun at the silliness of the source material. I want whimsy and wit, a light touch and a twinkle in the eye.

As one who has watched it, I can confirm that there wasn’t. For most of the film, Snow White’s aim is to restore her father (whom she believes to be out of the kingdom) to the throne.

I loved Barbie
and I think it’s becoming apparent Disney would have burnt Barbie to the ground. We all should be thankful Disney didn’t touch Barbie.Whew!

For Snow White?
I wanted to sing “some day my prince will come” my mom used to have this wind up Snow White figurine that would play that melody.
I wanted to be swept off my feet by Prince Charming and sing that song in a dark theater.
Swept into Fantasy, just didn’t get it this time and was a major let down for me.
Maybe/ maybe not…. Some still go see other movies…. The amount is not 0…I have seen movies at this theater that did single digits opening weekend that still had a decent enough crowd on a Sunday afternoon
I would argue except for very few event movies such as Avengers more than 2 screens is not really needed…. And frees up some space to show some movies other theaters may not be playing… which in that case this theater could reap the benefits

Barbie literally stops the film to lecture the audience. Snow White doesn’t.I loved Barbie
Whew!
It’s almost like folks don’t engage with the content of the film but rather react based on a panoply of outside forces, notably a partisan echo chamber that tells them how they should interpret the movie. They feel a film lectured them because they were lectured to feel that way.
