Trip Report Did i eat paint chips as a baby?

Once again, it's your favorite trip reporters favorite trip reporter. Prognosticator of Prognosticators ( I don't know what that means I just like Groundhog Day), your buddy, your pal....9000!

I jumped the gun last fall and started a PTR in hopes of visiting in December, but alas,... life, work and the holiday season decided that was a no for me, dog! Even tho my plans of visiting WDW were dashed and i was bummed, I decided to take advice from America's favorite kitchen decor signage which is to Live, Laugh, Love.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I was able to get a DVC reservation which leads us to this unhackneyed report! What makes this trip a bit fresh and unusual is the resort I'll be staying at, but we'll get to that shortly. For now, let's get to the cast and crew of this warlock of a TR! There shall be 3 of us!

First up: Me, the most likely reported forum member of all time. I thank political humor for that title.

1172692394_HIGH.jpg

Second: My good buddy, Justin who joined me on my last trip. It was his first trip to WDW and he experienced all the trials and tribulations that come with visiting with me. Such as this Lil beauty (IYKYK)

Here is a more PG 13 pic

And D: This big fella, who some of you may recognize from a prior report:

Screenshot_20250222_084026_Gallery.jpg

It's Bailey! I'll share details later as to why he is joining us again.

When will we be visiting: late March

And now...Where are we staying? To answer this question, I shall ask you a question. You can call me Joshua, and you're Stephen W. Falken becuase my question is...

artificial intelligence horror GIF by Red Giant

The game? Can you name the resort that when people say the name of said resort they tend to not say the full and complete name of the resort but instead shorten it? And here's a hint, which if you've read my prior reports you will know that the shortened title of this resort makes me puke in my mouth when I hear it. There are two primary forms of the shortened resort name. Both make me equally puke the same amount. Now, name that resort??

Wednesday ctnd...

We got the Conga sing fir Cosmic Rewind and really enjoyed it. I see it gets some hate online but I didn't mind at all. It fits the ride well.

Stopped for a Groot pic after

Up next was Soarin.
20250326_100443.jpg

We gor row 1 right in the middle. Yay

Keeping with the theme of attractions that involving flying, we went to Mission Space

20250326_105740.jpg

Here's Mission: Bailey

20250326_104545.jpg

There were several CMs in the kennel room with Bailey and of course we got to chatting. I asked them how many times a day people barf on the ride. They said usually 3-4 average but there have been days when it's much higher or even back to back. They explained they don't have to clean it. Janitorial comes in and they have a process that is fast and effective.

Journey Into Imaginarion had a low wait so we walked over.

@Longers status for Bailey and I in the back row! Lol

After our flight filled morning of attractions it was time for a cocktail, but not just any plain old cocktail. I was out for something with a touch of...weirdness.

A quick jaunt to Italy pavilion where weirdness is on the menu at the flower and garden booth! I present to you, the basil infused vodka!

20250326_113348.jpg
don't mind the beer and water on the right, they were for later.

Here we go! This is before, and you can tell i was quite nervous. It had an interesting smell and by interesting, I mean sewage adjacent.

20250326_113420.jpg

Below is right after my first sip...

20250326_113429.jpg

At first, the flavor is Campbell soup forward but it quickly becomes something that tastes like a dirty gym sock had sex with an expired raddish and this is their baby.

20250326_113423.jpg

In an effort to be fair I took another sip and the result was the same. The smart water came in handy but it was difficult to wash out the flavor lol!

On the other hand, i let Bailey sniff it and he instantly dipped his tongue in. SMH

I was somewhat interested in this drink. I don't know why, because it seems like a bloody mary and I don't like those, but I think you have convinced me I should skip it. Dirty sock and expired radish...no thanks.

It was lunch time so we headed towards International Gateway to exit the park. Below is a pic i got earlier in the day on our way to Soarin but forgot to post it

1718175469_HIGH.jpg

After exting we hopped on the skyliner. Our destination was a first time experience for Justin and one of my favorite lunch spots... Bar Riva at Riviera!

When we arrived i saw my beloved chicken sandwich was not on the menu. Luckily Marcy (bartender whose been there since they opened) told me.youncan still order (and also the Italian sandwich which isn't on the menu). She explained since they are now on the dining plan they shifted the menu but the café next door still makes the sandwiches and they share a kitchen. Yay

We started with drinks. I got the margaritas per Marcys suggestion and it was perfect. Justin ordered a 1664 (beer)
20250326_122834.jpg

This was a perfect drink for a warm day. You can taste the tequila but the pineapple juice balances it out well.

We also got the arrancini for an appetizer. Fun fact: the word "aps" or "app' soirt for appetizer makes me puke in my mouth. Same for "mains"

20250326_124609.jpg

These were ridiculously good. We hesitated to have something that was fried but it was very light and it stuffed with risotto. Highly recommend.

I got the chicken sandwich and Justin had the chicken tenders. And before you think he ordered from kids menu, hold your horses buckaroo! They're tenders are crazy elevated.

20250326_130441.jpg

20250326_130522.jpg

Parmasan fries..

20250326_130444.jpg

And the tenders were in a Chipotle sauce with drizzle

20250326_130706.jpg

They were very good and had some heat but not too hot to make your eyes water.

Bailey ordered the cold tile floor for a nap!

20250326_124104.jpg

20250326_132536.jpg

As he was sleeping a waitress walked by and a butter knife slid off the plate she was carrying and bounced off the floor and landed on Bailey. She was mortified and began apologizing profusely. Bailey hardly moved lol. We told her it was fine and not to worry. She came.back by several times to make sure he was OK.

You should absolutely try it! Think of it like the flower and garden version of Beverly! It's nothing that makes you sick to your stomach. I was able to drink the dunkel beer from Germany right after and I was fine. The most painful part of the process was the $16 price tag 😆🤣

I think I will pass, just live vicariously through you. I'll use that $16 for something better. I mean it is tempting to be sick to my stomach and super grossed out.

We made a quick stop over to HS via Skyliner because we were able to get a lightning lane for RnR. We debated using vs heading back to the room for some extra time to relax but we figured since we were so close it was worth it.

The ride Pic never came thru but I did get this Pic of Bailey on the way out.
20250326_154335.jpg

Quick bus ride back to the room to relax and then over to Magic Kingdom. We had a pretty solid line up for the evening.

Started off at Space Mtn

1718866484_HIGH (1).jpg

I was trying to look sad in the photo but it comes off more as constipated.

Then a little cruise around People Mover and sent proof of hydration to our group chat with our wives

20250326_182602.jpg

Bailey really enjoys people mover.

On our way towards Fantasy Land we saw that Mickey Mouse seemed to be having a rough day

20250326_185109.jpg

On our way to our next attraction we had a scary moment when a young child came running full sprint at Bailey. There were some bubbles blowing around and as the kid got close he began to punch the bubbles while still running straight at Bailey. The kids mom was about ten feet behind him and as she noticed Bailey she finally took action and began to run after him but by now he was within 10 feet of us. I stopped walking and had Bailey hit the brakes and the kid threw his final punch within inches of Baileys face.

Luckily Bailey didn't react but if thenkid had actually made contact it could have been different. The mom.was apologetic amd hopefully learned that allowing her kid to run wild chasing and punching bubbles could have consequences.

Peter Pan was our destination.

First time for Justin. He loved it. A Bailey pics at The Emporium below as we headed out

We left MK and caught a boat over to Polynesian. Im sure it will be no surprise when I say we were going to Wailulu Grill for dinner. Yes, that's three nights in a row! It wasnt only convenient since it's walking distance back to our room but the food is great and so is the view of fireworks and water pageant, which we were are able to see each night we ate there.

As we entered the bar area I asked how long the wait was for a table and was told appx 60 minutes. The bar had a few seats open so that's where we headed!

As we approached, I noticed a man in a wheel chair just parked right in the middle of the pathway to walk around the bar essentially blocking everyone from going that direction. There was a woman in front of him with a small pomeranian "service dog". She saw Bailey and picked up her dog immediately. As I walked around to the other side of the bar to take a seat she approached me and said "if you're hunting for a table, I was here before you"! I told her I was not taking a table and was just sitting at the bar and not to worry. She replied, "well, im just telling you because if you didn't ask, you wouldn't know what I was doing". She then pointed to the man (still parked) in the wheel chair and explained they were together and were here before us and looking for a table. I said "ok" and then had a seat.

She walked away, dog in hand to resume her table hunting endeavor. It was an odd exchange and I thought if I should tell her there was a wait list for a table and you need to check in with the hostess but she had already left so I let it be and thought perhaps she already had checked in so I just minded my own business.

When I sat down, a woman and her husband were next to me and the wife asked what the exchange was all about. I said "oh you want the Disney tea"! She laughed and said "yes, you see so many weird things happen here and sometimes you wonder what it was all about". I told her I definitely know the feeling. I explained what happened and they both thought it was odd as well but also said they initially thought it was about the dogs since she quickly picked hers up when she saw Bailey. We had a good laugh and talked about all the funny experiences you can have at WDW.

We ordered some drinks and tried the shishimi peppers as an appetizer. They were very very good! And spicy!
20250326_211758.jpg

We enjoyed the fireworks and then the water pageant as well. Bailey was fast asleep under the bar
20250326_210827.jpg

We noticed the man in the wheel chair had remained parked in the same spot and the woman with the dog was approaching tables and speaking to the people, then walking away and on to the next table. We assumed she was asking when they were leaving so she could get their table? After awhile we saw her standing next to a table for a good 5-10 minutes. Literally standing right in front of it. Eventually the family got up and she took the table. Her hunting was finally finished! She retrieved the gentleman in the wheelchair and they sat down. We were curious if the hostess (who was watching them take the table) was going to do anything.

This was all happening during the time the water pageant was pulling around. It was around 15 minutes later I had looked over and they were no longer there. Never saw what happened. I felt bad that if the hostess made them leave after all her time hunting (it was an older couple) but also thought she should have known better.

We had a great evening chatting with the bartenders and the folks around us at the bar. The bartenders were the same from our prior visits and they remembered us. They were whipping up some interesting drinks and i took a picture

20250326_212930.jpg

The husband amd wife left and another couple sat down and they knew the bartenders and it was apparent they were also CMs. I heard the girl mention Ale and Compass so of course I had to mention that it was one of my favorite lounges. As I told her, she titled her head and said, "I remember you, you're always there with a dog"! I said yes as I pointed down towards Bailey!

Justin was on the phone with his wife and I chatted with the CMs next to me for a bit as they shared some fun stories and updates on Ale amd Compass. Afterwards we headed back to the room.

It was a very interesting and enjoyable evening at Wailulu that night!

We were at Epcot for one reason...well, two reasons. One, Bailey pics

Neither one of us is huge 38 Special fans but they do have some bangers so we had to check it out! It was a great show and we had excellent seats. There were definitely some big time fans in the crowd. Mostly woman whom I think would have left their husbands if the band invited them.backstage judging by their behavior lol

And of course it wouldnt be a proper stop at Epcot without a 1664

The two French CMs definitely lived up to the reputation of French people.being rude to us gringos. I asked her if there was a French word for "no". She paused and looked at me.for a few seconds and then said "no" is the French word. She then proceeded to say a lot of French words to the other CM and he laughed, surely at my expense. Which is fine. I enjoyed the moment of awkwardness.
DW and I made a day trip to see 38 special, so we were there that day! Sorry we missed y'all.

Wow! Somebodies kids!! You handled that much better than I would have handled it. If she had gone up to my table, I would tell her to head to the hostess stand.

I enjoying your Trip Report and pictures especially of the star of the report, Bailey!
It was definitely odd but also provided some extra entertainment. But I'd bet that if she was the one sitting at a table and enjoying her meal and a stranger approached to ask how much longer they'd be so they can have the table, she would be very upset about it.

I'm finally all caught up and as usual, loving your TR! Bailey is just such a beautiful dog! We tried to eat at the new outdoor restaurant at The Poly Tower last month, but the wait was going to be an hour, so we passed. I'm hoping when we return in May that we'll get to enjoy it finally!
