MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Andrew C

You know what's funny?
Adding more attractions have always been the answer
Although my personal opinion is that there should be a 5th gate, I am not against new attractions in MK. If the plan makes sense. I don't think this one does, because I don't like the loss of what I think is a very important feature of MK and Frontierland. As I said in another post, Disney is moving away from what I consider a good overall experience. Some will agree..others won't

They do have some buildable land, but not readily connected to existing parks. This is why the Cars/Villain lands require water management permits just for a laydown yard.
The lay down yards, like everything else, needs water management permits because they’re increasing the area of impermeable surfaces. It has nothing to do with the bearing capacity of the soil.

Why shouldn’t they? Neither is very relevant to today’s youths.
It's kind of funny how the classic Disney theme park attractions/elements were relevant and enjoyable to kids from the 50s into the 90s/2000s-5 decades-and then, all of a sudden, according to some people, they are irrelevant to today's youth, and MUST BE REPLACED! Looks like Disney and their bootlickers on here are really leaning into the Vegas style of additions-it will last about 25 years, and then need to be replaced. Rinse and repeat.

Parks need both, ones that popular with long waits and ones that are fillers.
Something isn't a filler if it isn't being used. No business, parks or otherwise, need of should be devoted square footage to something that is not being used. People are simply not using TSI, or LB. There is no reason to keep things around for them to sit fallow for small percentages of guests every day.

It's the Doom and Gloom around here. They aren't taking down the castle or Pirates or etc.

The castle is essentially safe, as it's the second-best known company mascot right behind Mickey himself.

But....let's not pretend that Pirates is an attraction that will exist as long as the Magic Kingdom does. Pirates are symbolic of an action-adventure genre that waxes and wanes in popularity as time goes on, and it wouldn't surprise me if in 20-30 years, pirates become the new cowboys and PotC winds up on the chopping block for something flashier and newer.

Maybe it will spring from the Moana boat ride that was initially drawn up in the Animal Kingdom concept art.

I mean....if the cavernous grotto fits...

Hey, if people are interested in waiting in lines all day, if they think that is a good theme park experience, and if Disney wants to give them that...who am I to tell them otherwise? But that type of experience just isn't for me.
I can't stand (pun intended) the lines either. That's why we don't generally wait in them, using whatever line skip system, FP, FP+, Genie +, LL, ect. Is available. Personally i also benefit subjectively bc i don't like coasters, so a lot of the longer lines I am not stuck in, but for my family that does, see line skips.

However rides/attractions that don't attract people, don't have any effect on lines. TSI is a ghost town. Its not easy to get to, can't just go spur of the moment, its not an IP that anyone under 30? really has any connection with, and doesn't offer much of anything that you can't get a a number of local/cheaper type parks. I mean do you honestly think there is a significant portion of the attendees of the park that 1) are going looking to go to TSI, or 2) are saying, listen i don't really want to go to TSI, but the lines are long for rides i do want to go on, and rather than wait in them, i am going to go do something i didn't want to do in the first place?

People do use TSI and LB.

And even more so, almost every guest uses RoA.

At this point I’m just waiting for the Swiss family tree house to get demolished for a Moana meet and greet or something 😭

Shocking, you mean to tell me tastes change over TIME? Amazing. Next you will be telling me that arcades, roller rinks, and soda shops aren't popular anymore. Or that they getting rid of the smoking sections in public, and on the planes, and in the restaurants.... But as long as the kids aren't playing outside with fake guns anymore and roaming the neighborhoods with their friends we should be fine.

What people? At an appreciable percentage, not that i have ever seen, and apparently not according to the data WDW has.

As for RoA, what are you talking about? No one uses RoA, its not like there are paddle boats or canoes to ride on it. People aren't using it like a lazy river. There isn't walking paths along the river, or restaurants along its shores.

It's attitudes like that which result in Cars Land. Park Commandos complain about AK, for example, being a "half-day" park, leaving out the shows and animal walkways. There aren't additional "E tickets". Congratulations. Disney is listening to you. More rides to knock out. Less atmosphere. Hope you're happy.
That's not my point of view. I often just walk around animal kingdom and do no rides at all. I avoid magic kingdom like the plague. My hope is for some people eaters that make it tolerable to be there.

I'll miss the river, but replacing the boat and TSI with what, 4 rides? It should make that park more tolerable.

Who spends big bucks to go on a multi-day vacation that’s “tolerable”…?!?!?!🤪
If that’s your (in general) kinda’ vacation, you have other issues…!!!!! 😜🤣
