MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I think that Space Mountain and Pirates won’t be around in 3000 AD too.
Not sure the reason for the hyperbole and sarcasm?

It’s not a stretch to say that if Disney is willing to remove an integral, themed area of the park that makes it cohesive, at the altar of LL revenue, then the moment any other classic attraction doesn’t bring enough ancillary revenue, it’s in danger.

Personally I think CoP will be next. Despite the fact Stitch is STILL sitting empty across the avenue.

It's so interesting that so many people care so much about the riverboat and Tom sawyer island, yet they both are walk ons every time I go.
It's attitudes like that which result in Cars Land. Park Commandos complain about AK, for example, being a "half-day" park, leaving out the shows and animal walkways. There aren't additional "E tickets". Congratulations. Disney is listening to you. More rides to knock out. Less atmosphere. Hope you're happy.

Walk on attractions are so relaxing and magical.

Folks will miss them when there are none.
They were walk on's because people didn't have any interest in them.

While there are relaxing and magical to some small minority, they weren't to the majority of guests as no one wanted to experience them.

People didn't think about them when they were readily available, they aren't going to miss them when they are not.

We are. It has nothing to do with Park Commandos, or leaving out shows or animal walk ways.

When something isn't attracting crowds or isn't in demand, it makes absolutely no sense to not seek to use the space in a manner that more people will like. No one cared about the River boat, people where not using it, weren't interested It makes no sense to tie up areas of the park which could be developed in ways that more people will enjoy.

So you are saying all the people who have actual access to the data on utilization at the park and who and how many people are going to different rides/attractions are saying the same thing? Shocking.

Anyone with even a quarter of a brain says the same thing. For any business. If your customers don't care about and don't use/enjoy certain offerings you have, you make changes to offer them something else.

You (and Bob, Josh and Hugh) are right.

There should be no walk on attractions, Walk on attractions is bad for business. All attractions should have full queues and (of course) SELL LLs.

You got me. I use much less than a quarter of my brain on a daily basis.

I am already missing CoP....

It just find it interesting that Walt Disney bought more than 27,000 acres because there was no lack of space to do things on his property compared to DLP. Yet DisneyCorp is cannibalizing space rather using extra space which it is more than capable of using. Can you imagine Walt Disney saying, "No one cared about the River, people where [sic] not using it, weren't interested. It makes no sense to tie up areas of the park which could be developed in ways that more people will enjoy." I can't. What's next? Fill up the waste of space that is World Showcase Lagoon?

To be clear, he’s referring to the new berm that will hide the Cars attractions from guests standing in Liberty Square and the existing Frontierland walkways.

This is the base map, with an aerial overlay slightly visible for context.
The canal is on the map to the lock and the only the lower part of RoA.

I can find something similar in an online hydrology map (waterbodies) for Orange County updated early this month: for the folks I DM'ed earlier, it was updated this month too. You would have to zoom in on the Magic Kingdom, if you use that link.

I believe the new pond is designed to overflow its north embankment dam, away from the Utilidors and into a series of slopes, and conduits leading to the new water management system.

Yeah, I don't think some people really get how important it is for the overall experience to have things to do and see that do not require a long wait in a line.
Agreed, but it's not like there isn't standby only/mostly walk on attractions at MK though. I think it's more nuanced that that.

Tiki Room, Country Bears, HoP, Philarmagic and I'm guessing we get a stage/theater show in Villains Land.

Trading TSI/ for rides that drive (no pun attended) demand can help capacity.

I'm trying to say I think Disney told Orange County that it will make the lower loop of Rivers of America into some sort of pond.

Literally an opinion to claim whole cloth that people didn’t have any interest in them. And not a very accurate one. Walk on doesn’t mean less popular in most cases, it means high capacity and sometimes less popular mixed in

Hence why Disney needs to use its blessing of size and EXPAND not REPLACE
That doesn't mean they have tons of land at the ready. Much of what they own isn't suitable for development, is reserved for conservation, or would require capital investment (and possibly a massive capital investment) to make usable.

Bob and his henchmen have been poor stewards of the parks since he took over. Staggs and Rasulo really set things down a path which they may not be able to recover from, particularly in light of the IP "preference" and revenue generation required of anything new these days.
