This morning we started with a school-wide assembly. One of our music teachers led the school in Christmas carols. Then we had "Reindeer Races". Each team had a teacher sit on a scooter, while another pulled them using pool noodles. I was the one pulling for our team. We won the first heat of the 4K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade teachers. We lost the final round against the 4th grade team, but only because my teammate fell off the scooter. During the first round, I may have thrown her into a wall, but she gave me full permission to go as fast as I could. Also, on the second round a group of third graders started chanting my name, so it got half the school rooting for me. It took me a while to register what they were doing, I was so focused. šŸ˜‚

Separate story... a couple in town always hosts the entire district staff for a holiday party. They provide good, drinks, and they do a "gift card lottery" every year. This year they had 7 winners, with each gift card being $50. I won a Culver's gift card. I was the last winner. For those that don't know, Culver's is a popular fast food chain that originated in Wisconsin. 3 of the 4 first grade teachers went to the party, and all three won. Pretty lucky!

I played trumpet in the lunchroom at both of my schools.
Elementary kids sang along : Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
Great fun! :)

Hey everybody, my wife and I have booked a Royal Caribbean Cruise "Symphony of the Seas" that is scheduled to depart in 2 days.
Leaving Miami at 4:30PM Sunday Dec. 22nd
Arriving back at Miami Sunday Dec. 29th
Stops in CocoCay, St Thomas and St Maarten
As long as there are no issues with our flight, we'll enjoy that cruise without paying for any wifi. So if I'm off of here for a week now you know the reason.
The flight (please please) is scheduled to depart Philadelphia tomorrow...Sat. 12/21 @ 6:36PM

That sounds like so much fun!!! It also sounds like you are well-loved by your students.

You said "one of" you music teachers...how many ARE there??

And congratulations on the gift card.

Tree is done.

Are y’all a ā€œone ornament per branchā€ precise placer or a ā€œload ā€˜em up, I don’t need to see any greeneryā€ decorator?

I lean towards the latter.

And please don’t point out that our tree is leaning. I know. My beloved bought a rotating tree stand (he loves ā€˜em, we’ve had one spinning our Disney tree for years) and I’m not sure if the quality of stands has slipped (entirely possible) or if this pencil tree just doesn’t have enough weight to rotate in a stable manner, but tomorrow am we will be realigning the tree in this stand and it will remain stationary.

I made a little video for y’all of the tree rotating, but it’s too large to upload, even though it’s only :45 šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Do you have a YouTube account…?
I uploaded some from my account here in my recent TR (one as long as 4:01) with no issues.

Very cool about the trumpet music for the kiddos…!!! šŸ™‚

Have a blast on the cruise……!!!!!!! šŸ˜€
I’m all for yet another cruise for us, but with 2 fairly recent WDW trips, plus we’re planning a ā€œEuropean Vacationā€ šŸ˜‰, it’ll probably be a little while.
But, there’s nothin’ in the world like bein’ out on the open ocean, on your stateroom balcony, with a beautiful sunrise first thing in the morning…!!!!! 😊
And, tell me that cloud doesn’t, maybe, resemble Pluto, just a bit…???!!!!! 🤣
