And again I ask - have any of the great insiders on these boards mentioned anything about the Muppet replacement show?

Rather than assuming it isn’t happening (since it’s currently baked into a pre-existing theatre that is already built and fronts the new land); my assumption is it’s going to be more of an overlay. Reused infrastructure. Statler and Waldorf being turned into Roz, etc. etc.

Basically just new MV3D, which by no means guarantees it is good. But since they are basically doing the same thing with Bugs to Zootopia, I see this being in that clear lineage.

I also strongly agree with you that it is not fully baked yet. But an attraction like this wouldn’t typically be that baked until 18-24 months prior to opening. Like Zootopia.

I think it's worth noting to that the Parks blog says "film" as opposed to "show" that distinction might be trivial, but I doubt it. A film you preserve. The other elements make up the remainder of the show.

I'd assume they said it like that so if they end up just slapping it on Disney+ they can say that's what they meant, and if they move the show somewhere else, then they can say that's what the plan was too. Be vague so any outcome looks intentional.

A Superhero Courtyard is a great idea, committing to one IP could lead to issues when that IP becomes unpopular (which tbqh I think a Zootopia land would age very quickly), but making it a genre land like Fantasyland or Frontierland would allow for attractions to come and go without needing to retheme the entire land.

Superhero Courtyard with a Big Hero 6 coaster, Incredibles stage show and Dr Strange dark ride? I'm all for it.

I agree with letting him cook on this but Dr Strange doesn't quite feel right to me in this specific square. I have a slight idea but it would be a long shot. If we put a Dr Strange Mystic Manor style dark ride where Beauty and the Beast is right now Sunset Boulevard becomes "Mystic Hollywood" and we keep ToT how it is unless Disney wants to scrap the Twilight Zone theming then keep ToT its own original attraction with possibly a new storyline similar to the one at Tokyo (emphasis on ORIGINAL attraction not Marvel 2.0)

It’s Paris ToT. You can also argue that Tokyo ToT, even with its beautiful theming, probably has the worst drop sequence.

Paris' is pretty bad, but at least its still horror themed with show scenes. And there's not a bunch lighting bars with branding bolted above doorways. That's so embarrassing, its like a major Hollywood Film having barcodes on the bottom of the china in a scene. No wonder it was the ride that made Joe Rohde quit.

Even if that is true. Still the far better plan because AC area is pathetic esthetically in upkeep and content. Now the park suffers a content and a stronger venue attraction loss in this downtime.

I agree with this and have said as much. AC absolutely should have gone first. Just saying that it going first wouldn’t negate Muppets going at all.

This could mean a defunct Bean and Penguin animatronic behind glass in Walt Disney Presents.

I've always said that Big Hero Six should have taken over RnRC and the Guardians Tower should have been Florida's, as the design of that tower allows for a more adventure-themed storyline. I'd be down with a Doctor Strange retheme as well.

BH6 definitely lends itself to a coaster, though I personally like Florida's ToT staying the way it is (aside from it being the park icon- why isn't the Chinese Theater the park icon?)

Now that we know the door coaster is going into a new building backstage instead of the Muppetvision building, will they still be using the Mack ride system from Arthur in Europa Park?

I’m not sure where you got Mack Inverted Powered Coaster. The artwork very clearly looks like Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster trains.

That's exactly it. Outside of people here, most of your average guest doesn't care about the Muppets or nostalgia of the parks. They want IP they know and new attractions.

I think you are only half correct. I don't think people care about IP. There were a lot of posts on this forum how Avatar was a poor choice because people did not know/like the movie or IP. Yet, the land and rides are hugely popular.

I think the average guest just wants new attractions.

However... IP based attractions probably help to sell merch, based on IP recognition.

It could be possible the film is preserved on Disney+ or even by itself in a different theater and the “other parts of the experience” could be moved to RNRC probably in the queue or even used for a different show in the theater next door. It’s possible they preserve both the movie and the physical props but not together.

As it currently stands, ToT and Indy are the only two classic MGM attractions still standing. If Indy is on the chopping block because he’s moving to AK, they need to throw us fans a bone and at least protect ToT. After they took GMR from us ToT is the backbone of the entire park

Chapek's reign truly was awful, but not for nothing, Iger is still pretty responsible too. Chapek was his pick, he was still with the company while Chapek was in charge, and he swooped in after he was booted and did nothing to fix all the awful "Chapek" decisions. If Iger is being honesty when he said they knew for "five years before [Epic Universe] was publicly announced", that's still mostly his time in charge. Iger had from 2014 to 2020 and then 2022 to present to get projects moving and instead he did nothing major in that time aside from Pandora and Galaxy's Edge, which again was 100% in response to the Wizarding World.

But even still, how many of these plans they have going now existed before the Chapek era? Tropical Americas, Monsters Inc, Cars, Villains, etc., they all feel like they're quick decisions made to try to get something moving before Epic Universe gets to Phase 2. I can't think of any publicly known plan that feels like it's been a long time in the making.

How long was Chapek actually CEO? Iger came back a few months after he left the first time, then left at the end of 2021 before returning and replacing Chapek.

I agree, but I'm not sure Hollywood Studios needs more coasters. So couldn't Big Hero 6 or Incredibles be a dark ride as well?

Alternatively, just rebuild MuppetVision in the Sunset Showcase and say they're making the "first ever true Muppets land". If the choices are no MuppetVision or MuppetVision on the other side of the park, I'd take that. As nostalgic as Muppets Courtyard is, it's been neutered for years, so I'd rather a fresh build that can go full Muppet mayhem.


That's fair. I suppose it's better to save the AC for something big, though I really hope it's something original. Another clone land would be super disappointing, DHS desperately needs more unique offerings- I believe right now the only exclusive attractions are MuppetVision, Rock n Rollercoaster, and Tower of Terror?

Yes to the HOP concept. I can’t talk about the other stuff right now. It would identify the teams involved.
