I’d much rather have that basic dark ride with reused figures than what we’re getting. Of course, they have the Tokyo version, but Disney doesn’t consider its guests to be worth that kind of expenditure.Hopefully they don't bring over the dark ride from DCA, unless it's vastly improved. It's still using some of the basic remedial animatronics from Superstar Limo.
Where did this idea Muppets would be repurposed as a show come from? Everything I’ve seen indicates this will be a land with ONE (sub 60 second) ride. While most people think the Muppetvision theater will be repurposed into some sort of laugh floor like attraction, is it possible they might be eyeing some sort of C-D ticket dark ride for the spot as well?
New rides draw more crowds than 30 year old 3D shows. Not saying I like it, but that's a fact.Right now, replacing Muppetvision is all bad news regardless of any future plans for the Muppets.
It means that once again they aren't doing anything to actually improve DHS or add capacity (and will potentially make DHS even worse), and who knows if/when any future expansions that might use the essentially abandoned Launch Bay/Animation Courtyard area will happen. They haven't announced anything, and even if they have plans, they could be pushed off for a decade or more, especially with a new CEO coming in 2026 (supposedly).
The park would be better off if the Monsters Inc. coaster was cancelled than having it replace Muppetvision. And I'm not saying this because I'm a big fan of Muppetvision -- I'm honestly not sure I've ever even seen it.
You know what draws more than new rides?New rides draw more crowds than 30 year old 3D shows. Not saying I like it, but that's a fact.
I suspect that their logic is the "new" Mermaid Show and new Villains show would more or less replace the lost Muppet*Vision capacity / draw. You know what draws more than new rides?
Having BOTH a 30 year old 3D show PLUS a new ride!!
To Iger - Do NOT destroy and replace! ADD new rides in under utilized areas of the park!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I understand that argument. I put Monster's Inc in a similar category as TRON going to MK. I don't think long term it hurts the park, but it wasn't what the park needed. It's another D/E ticket that will likely have insufficient capacity relative to demand. That's exactly my point.
The park doesn't have enough space or things to do for the people it gets now; adding another draw is going to make it that much worse. Especially since Monsters will have a height requirement.
It will take all of the park's existing issues and exacerbate them. It's going to hurt the park rather than help it from a guest perspective (it'll be good for Disney's bottom line, obviously, since they'll sell LL to Monsters).

Personally, I'd like to see the following "small" things addressed in this park:
Longer term, it's probably logical that any Animation Courtyard re-theme rolls in RNRC. The Mermaid show and Villains show are probably being run as ways to extend the useful life of that area and delay whatever is ultimately planned. If either of those shows are popular it would undoubtedly delay those plans even more.
- Spinner or other flat ride added to Toy Story Land beyond the restaurant. The obvious choice would be a slight retheme of TriceraTop Spin to Trixie's TriceraTop Spin. I'd also accept a carousel in that area.
- New stage show to replace Beauty and the Beast
- New video in the Mickey Shorts Theater. Longer term I'd accept a replacement of the entire Frozen/Mickey Shorts complex with a ride.
Of course, the elephant in the room is that the park desperately needs a boat ride of some sort.

The little Dragonflier at Dollywood (which has been used for comparison) is 60 seconds. So yeah, with additional theming and elements that I suspect it will receive, and a different launch, it will be above that.I know it's nitpicking, but absolutely nothing indicates this ride is under 60 seconds. Tron and Slinky are longer than 60 seconds.
It's probably 90-120seconds. Likely depending on if it stops in the mid ride show scene that the model seems to suggest there is.
I’m still convinced tron was built long term as a replacement for space mountain - it makes sense.I think the big difference with TRON is that TRON was an actual addition to the park. MK didn't need it, but it also didn't really hurt anything.
There was a significant stretch under Iger where Disney did anything they could do to grow the parks except build new attractions. It was like they were the overweight person that would do anything to lose weight... except diet and exercise. Now they're at least building new attractions because Universal showed them that the Central Florida tourism market isn't mature.Disney has gone from spending billions to manipulate guest patterns and spread demand (FP+) to spending billions to replace existing square footage and create demand for insufficient capacity (LL).
They've spent 20 years trying to manipulate park capacity instead of just expanding it.
