That "balancing act" you're referring to removed "Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls" from a 50 year old parade. Doesn't seem like very much balancing is going on. It seems very much tilted one way.

I don’t mean it’s always a *successful* balancing act.
The “Ladies and Gentlemen” removal is another issue, and one I personally think was an overreaction. I would have left it alone and, in future shows, changed it to “Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, One and All…”

Referring to guests as “friends” instead of “sir” or “ma’am” was definitely the most confusing and patronizing change in the name of “inclusivity.” I get it that sometimes it’s unclear what somebody is, but the vast majority of people are not that way and referring to them by their obvious pronouns is a nonissue.
I don’t mean it’s always a *successful* balancing act.
Yeah I'm just not giving the team that came up with that decision any benefit of the doubt. They're morons.

They’re prob glad they are in states passing laws against such displays. Heaven forbid everyone isn’t just like them.Can’t say Christmas but drag queens walking up and down Main Street = A Ok
I was at the park on a day last June where Pride Nite was being held that evening. As you know they allow folks in a few hours before their event meaning they are mingling with regular day guests. I saw some very interesting characters walking in that afternoon but none better than a few of the drag queens. The most memorable of the bunch being about 6 foot 5 in heels, make up, big hair the whole deal. But don’t you dare say Christmas! I just couldn’t help thinking what some of the straight laced families from the Mid West must have been thinking. They must not have had a clue what was going on. But this is Disneys DEI team. Geniuses. Amazing at their job.
And don’t you dare say “ladies and gentlemen!”

Okay, that explains the surreality of a recent parking tram ride I had at WDW where the poor CM kept almost-shouting at the “friends” in one of the tram cars to remain seated. Over and over again, and the more agitated, intense and loud she got, the funnier the word “friends” got. And… unfortunately, the friends didn’t speak english, and increasing the volume accomplished nothing.
Yes heaven forbid there aren’t 6 foot 5 men dressed as ladies walking down Main Street during regular operating hours. I don’t want to live in that world.

Happened to me, once. I was standing in a "no standing walkway" trying to take a picture of the castle. Cast member kept yelling at me. "Friend!" Had no idea who they were talking to and it just came off as rude. It's a terribly inefficient system. Hate to destroy the magic, but not every character is played by a CM of the same gender.

Some of the face characters too. I've seen males playing both Cruella and Evil Queen.
Are you sure? On Pride Nite or on regular days? I’ve never noticed but also don’t pay much attention to most characters.

Yep, regular day.
Its technically drag, as its a male CMs dressed as a female. So the point is its happening during regular days not just on Pride Nights, even if you never noticed it.
Ok even if true one is obviously not noticeable and the other is the opposite.

Well Pride Nights are going to be more glaring as its more noticeable. I'm just making the point that it happens more often than you realize, ie its not an issue unless you make it one.
At Disneyland?
They don’t cast males as female face characters or females as male face characters.
None binary people blur the line but the only time I’ve seen this happen is with the Evil Queen in Orlando in the video that got somewhat big on social media.
Even pride night from what I’ve seen online Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Queen of Hearts were out and all female

It's also theater, in which it's normal for the opposite sex to play a character. Peter Pan and Maleficent both come to mind in Fantasmic.
Ignoring the social issue aspect of it, having drag queens at Disneyland is no different to me than somebody wearing a inflatable T-rex suit or any other costume to Disneyland. Simply not the place for it.

The idea is "Look at me! I'm my own attraction!" Disneyland's show shouldn't be highjacked by visitors or cast members. For example, Maynard was a cast member not an entertainer. No matter how silly he was, he really should never outshine the attraction he was working.

Yes at Disneyland, I've seen it on at least two occasions that I remember. Now its possible it was just those specific circumstances like a female CM wasn't available so they had a male CM just take the role for that day rather than them specifically being hired for the role, I dunno. But I've personally see it on at least two occasions that I remember. I've also seen it in videos from various Disney Vloggers, so it seems to me its on a regular enough basis that its what I would consider common.

Entertainment CMs can’t just take a role for the day. It doesn’t work like that.
