In general, they try to avoid single-file lines for safety purposes. Sometimes it's unavoidable, but in this instance, it's not necessary.
Yes, they *try* to avoid that. But there are plenty of queues in which you really can't get a person to walk alongside an ECV.

Anyhoo, the left side queue has plenty of room. It'd be only 20 feet of wall to demo to divide that space evenly amongst four lines, giving the right side more room.

I’ll literally be in Epcot the day this changes back. I’ve never ridden SoC. I’m very disappointed.

Also, I’m worried my almost-4yo will be scared by some of the transitions in SatW

This is awesome news! I love Soarin' Around the World. Respect for the OG version, and I can see why it should live on at DCA. But I love "World," even the CGI transitions--like a DK Science Book come to life, in the spirit of 90's Epcot. And the finale sequence, from Iguazu Falls to the Eiffel Tower to Spaceship Earth, is stirring and triumphant with an incredible homage to Jerry Goldsmith's original score. I'm so excited Soarin' Around the World will be back--now I'll be spending more time at Epcot on my next trip so I can ride Soarin' Around the World multiple times. Heck, with Soarin' Around the World, Living with the Land, Awesome Planet, and the Behind the Seeds greenhouse tour, I could spend most of a day just at The Land pavilion. Now if they'd bring back the Listen to the Land song, that would be the chef's kiss. Epcot Forever! :)

I am kicking myself for not riding this on my December trip. I just assumed, in true Disney fashion, that its "limited time run" would be extended for five or six years. 🤡
I’m beyond happy that I insisted on riding it this past Saturday. I told my sister that I had no idea when Soarin’ around the World would return but had a feeling that SoC’s time was coming to a close. It ended up being a fantastic ride as it seemed that the soundtrack was booming and everybody seemed to be having a great time!

It is a shame that SoC had such a short run, it was the true essence of the attraction and the experience. Maybe we are lucky and during this brief downtime the imagineers actually did something right and fixed SaTW. This way if you arent dead center in the exact theatre and the exact right row the whole film is distorted. Does anyone else besides me wonder how WDW even let SaTW be released in the condition it was in? My last trip i was in the 3rd theatre and the Eiffel Tower was literally at a 45 degree angle, just bad Imagineering

I like Soarin' Over California, it's charming in a way ATW isn't, but I have to admit that after getting used to ATW a trip on the old one in December made me feel a bit nauseous with how shakey the camera work is. So I'm not too gutted to be going back to the ATW version.

I don't see that.

Here's the super wide queues for Stand-by and LL.

However, they do narrow. The question is can they narrow down into four lines?

Here is the one side, which pinches people down from a very wide queue to just side-by-side. It has railing that comes out of nowhere to do the pinching. It and that trashcan can move. This would create two LL lanes: one for show A and one for show B.

And this side has no pinching at all, it stays very wide. Easy to create a line for show A and one for show B.
