How sad would it be for them to announce more DLR expansions and near nothing at WDW when UOR is quickly catching up? They have no foresight…

They said EPCOT, so there should be something.

Maybe they’ll re-announce Mary Poppins? Or Play? Or Spaceship Earth? Or a model of Comunicore Hall?

So much to restate as new!!!

“Transformation of Epcot”…you zoomed past that key part
They’ve been saying that for 5 years.

Now I hope that means something? Maybe?

But they’ve been telegraphing no building for awhile now.

Generally, the show floor hasn't contained the announcements. It's usually for the more advanced, under construction projects. The announcements are at the keynote.

I guess the Epcot experience notwithstanding, but even that was partially covered up until the keynote.

Frozen almost certainly is a model from Paris and/or HKDL. I surmised they would have the Tokyo DisneySea model as the big showpiece, but doesn't sound like that's the case.

I'd say some combination of those.
I mean at this point, I wouldn’t care if they made a big deal about making these sound like “new” announcements. EPCOT needs all it can get and I really think it can become a great park. Poppins was the project that I first commented on in this forum. It makes so much sense and really should happen (in a dark ride setting of course).

Spaceship Earth simply cannot exist in it’s current form and needs a refurb. I know it’s a long shot but if they fix Imagination, EPCOT can reach new heights if they do it properly of course.

EDIT: Maybe Coco takes over Gran Fiesta? To be honest, I wouldn’t mind what happens either way to this attraction. Are the rumors of another country coming back?

The poppins addition - if done like ratatouille - could be a big add.

I’d also like them to flesh out another pavilion on the other side of the showcase. Germany would be my pick.

If they were to put in something between seas and the land? And then find some way to rehab imagination?

It would be the best Disney park…which is what it was built to be and should be

I try not to think about how they could have rebuilt imagination, cloned crushs coaster, and replaced UoE with a Digital Frontier pavilion anchored by TRON, and had money left over for common sense rehabs across future world, for the cost of the boondoggles they actually have undertaken.

I find it hard to put stock in the PEP presentation at D23, especially when it comes to what goes on in Orlando. I believe the Insiders here know what is going to happen to a point already, but they still will pull announcements at the 11th hour. The presentations have featured things that get cancelled immediately after the presentation ends, “tabled” 1-2 years after the announcement, construction started and then cancelled or tabled, and of course, cant meet their generous opening dates anyway. It is what it is.

Oh I’m with you 100%

Chapek is not spending money…so that’s people round here setting themselves up for disappointment.

1. Disney has still lost half its value in a year and a half. Now “value” is crap because it’s daily horse trading…but rich guys like money and don’t operate that way.
2. He’s an unoriginal twit. He’s repeating iger’s “arc” to a T. Even though neither will admit it
First step is be cheap and price the hell outta things. Which means don’t spend.
